PRINTING ROLLER AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING A PRINTING ROLLER
20170080702 · 2017-03-23 ·

A printing roller comprises a base body which has mounting segments, a printing and a clamping mechanism which has a clamping bushing, which can be displaced in the axial direction, and with respect to the clamping bushing, has a proximal and a distal clamping element which are arranged to detachably clamp the printing sleeve to the base body by means of the radial clamping force in each case, wherein a compression force transmission chain is formed between the clamping bushing and the proximal and the distal clamping elements, by means of which, during an initial clamping phase, the compression force, generated by the clamping bushing is transmitted predominantly or entirely to the distal clamping while the compression force generated by the clamping bushing is applied to the proximal clamping element to a lesser extent than to the distal clamping element or not at all.

Flexographic printing with curing during transfer to substrate

Methods and systems for flexographic printing are described and include curing of material to be printed while the material is in contact with both a feature of a flexographic printing plate and a recipient substrate. The systems and method are useful in preventing slippage between the feature and the recipient substrate, and are particularly useful when printing at high resolution.

Converting machine
12319050 · 2025-06-03 · ·

The invention relates to a method of aligning a plurality of printed motifs on a sheet (3) in a converting machine (10). An actual position (Pa_1) at a first sensor is defined as an initial reference position (P_ref1) for the sheet, and at least one displacement error (d2) is calculated and compared to a first threshold (T1). If the displacement error is lower than the first threshold, then the angular position () of a printing cylinder (42) in the second flexographic printing unit (16b) is adjusted. However, if the error is higher than the first threshold, then at least part of the of the displacement error (d_2) is corrected by modifying the speed (V) of a vacuum transfer unit located between the first printing unit and the second printing unit.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A PRINTING MACHINE FOR FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING
20250360705 · 2025-11-27 ·

A method for operating a printing machine for flexographic printing, wherein a web of printing stock is unwound, transported and thereby guided through at least two double printing units of the printing machine. Each of the double printing units has at least one impression cylinder and in each case two printing cylinders for flexographic printing. The impression cylinders are each driven in rotation by a separate motor and the printing cylinders are each driven in rotation by a separate motor. A computer of the printing machine calculates at least two virtual drive axes and the computer controls the motors in each case using one of the virtual drive axes. The method is particularly suitable for high-production and flexible processing in industrially operated, web-processing flexographic printing machines for packaging printing.

Adhesive primer for flexographic plate mounting tape

Primer layers for adhesion of a pressure sensitive adhesive material to a substrate are provided. The primer layer comprises a crosslinked polymer. In some embodiments, the primer layer has an atomic nitrogen content of greater than 6 wt %, and in some a ratio of atomic weight percent of oxygen to nitrogen of less than 3.0. In some embodiments the crosslinked polymer is the reaction product of an amine-functional base polymer such as a polyethylenimine (PEI) and a crosslinker, which may be a polyaziridine crosslinker. Also provided are two-layer constructions comprising the primer layer and a substrate layer; and tapes, such as flexographic plate mounting tapes, comprising the two-layer construction and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer.
