A printing apparatus includes a detection unit that is arranged to face an ejecting surface on which a plurality of nozzles of a printing head that ejects liquid droplets are arrayed, and detects an ejecting condition of the liquid droplets; a recovery unit that recovers an ejecting condition of nozzles of the printing head; and a control unit that determines whether to perform or skip inspection of the ejecting condition by the detection unit based on a state of each of the nozzles of the printing head, and controls a nozzle for which the inspection of the ejecting condition is determined to be skipped so as to perform the inspection of the ejecting condition by the detection unit after the recovery unit recovers the ejecting condition of the nozzle.

LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a switching valve having an outlet port and inlet ports, and switching, among channels, a channel to be communicated with the outlet port. The channels include: a first liquid-draining channel connecting a treatment liquid head and the switching valve, treatment liquid discharged to a treatment liquid cap flowing therethrough; a second liquid-draining channel connecting an ink head and the switching valve, ink discharged to an ink cap flowing therethrough; a first cleaning liquid-supplying channel connecting a cleaning liquid tank to the switching valve via the treatment liquid cap; a second cleaning liquid-supplying channel connecting the cleaning liquid tank to the switching valve via the ink cap; and a cleaning liquid bypass channel connecting the cleaning liquid tank to the switching valve not via the treatment liquid and ink caps.

LOCALIZED PRINTHEAD CLEANING IN A PRINTING SYSTEM
20260077603 · 2026-03-19 ·

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for localized printhead cleaning of a printing system are disclosed. A printing system performs a printhead health check operation for a printhead of the printing system. The printhead health check operation includes identifying and recording a set of nozzle defects within the printhead's nozzles, which can include any of clogs, misfires, and inconsistencies. Based on the printhead health check operation, the printing system determines a set of nozzle degradation metric values for the printhead, indicating the extent and nature of the nozzle defects. Using the set of nozzle degradation metric values, the printing system generates a set of actions for a carrier associated with the printhead. The set of actions adjusts at least one parameter of the cleaning device, such as its speed, motion profile, vacuum level, or wiper pressure, and defines a printhead actuation strategy. The printing system performs the cleaning of the printhead in accordance with the generated actions.

Maintenance Method And Recording Apparatus

A maintenance method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a maintenance method for a recording apparatus including an ink jet head having a nozzle that ejects a water-based ink composition, the maintenance method including a leaving-to-stand step of performing leaving-to-stand with a nozzle surface in which the nozzle of the ink jet head is formed being in contact with an absorbing member containing a maintenance liquid.
