The systems and apparatus can include a releasable, removable, or unreleasable binding device, tamper-evident features, labeling features, and binding devices can be configured to connect and secure covering devices and which can substantially rotate 360 degrees, fold back upon itself, lie flat when open, and releasable covering devices to cover personal, private, nonpublic, or other information.

An image forming apparatus, including: a printing unit configured to print on a sheet; a bookbinding unit configured to perform a cutting process of cutting a binding member for binding a plurality of sheets before sheets printed by the printing unit are stacked on a stack tray and perform a binding process of binding the sheets by the cut binding member; and a controller configured to cause the bookbinding unit to perform the cutting process of the binding member based on sheet size information, the controller controls, in a case of producing a plurality of copies of bookbound products, not to perform the cutting process of the binding member of a second copy while sheets are stacking as a first copy, but to perform the cutting process of the binding member of a next copy while sheets are stacking as each of the second copy and subsequent copies.

A book has a front cover having a first edge which is unconnected, and an opposing second edge which is connected to a spine. A back cover has a first edge which is connected to the spine and an opposing second edge which is connected to flexible joint or fold-line. The book has a third cover having a first edge which is connected to the flexible joint, that couples the third cover to the back cover, and an opposing second edge which is connected to binding. The system includes an un-releasable locking binding device and tamper-evident binding device configured to connect, secure, and papers, which can substantially rotate 360 degrees, fold back upon itself, lie flat when open, and deter and prevent removal and insertion of pages, be tamper evident, and covering devices releasably positioned to cover personal, private, or nonpublic information located on the page. The bound plurality of papers can include an identification label and can be configured as a secure Notary journal notebook having all NonPublic Personal Information (NPPI) fields for a single record on the left or right page and an acronym list.

A series of conveyance paths to convey a recording medium is formed across a printer and a post-processing device in a printing system. The printing system includes: a detection unit that detects that the post-processing device has entered a predetermined state; and a paper feeding control unit that limits the number of recording media fed to the conveyance path, when it is not detected that the post-processing device has entered the predetermined state, based on the number of recording media conveyable to the post-processing device after the post-processing device enters the predetermined state.
