Method for introducing hepatocyte growth factor and neurogenin 1 into mesenchymal stem cells
The present invention relates to an adult stem cell line introduced with an HGF gene and a neurogenic transcription factor gene of a bHLH family, a preparation method of the adult stem cell line, a composition for the prevention or treatment of neurological diseases comprising the adult stem cell line, and a method for treating neurological diseases comprising the step of administering the composition to a subject having neurological diseases or suspected of having neurological diseases. The adult stem cells according to the present invention, which are introduced with an HGF gene and a neurogenic transcription factor gene of a bHLH family, can be used to overcome chronic impairment caused by cell death following stroke. Thus, the adult stem cells can be developed as a novel therapeutic agent or widely used in clinical trial and research for cell replacement therapy and gene therapy that are applicable to neurological diseases including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer disease, and spinal cord injury as well as stroke.
PYRIDAZINONE DERIVATIVE

SOLUTIONS FOR ORAL DOSAGE
Pharmaceutical compositions comprising a vehicle, a solubilizer, and a surfactant are disclosed to be used in conjunction with non-chemotherapeutic active pharmaceutical ingredients which are soluble in water but subject to hydrolysis to some extent. Such non-chemotherapeutic active pharmaceutical ingredients may include amitriptyline, a derivative thereof, or a combination thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions may be administered as an oral solution. Other embodiments are directed towards methods of using and methods of making such formulations.
BIODEGRADABLE DRUG DELIVERY COMPOSITIONS
A biodegradable drug delivery compositions comprising a triblock copolymer containing a polyester and a polyethylene glycol and a diblock copolymer containing a polyester and an end-capped polyethylene glycol, as well as a pharmaceutically active principle is disclosed.
Beta-carbolines as positive allosteric modulators of the human serotonin receptor 2C (5-HT.SUB.2C.)
Disclosed are novel small molecules, methods of synthesis of the small molecules, and uses of the small molecules for modulating activity of the human serotonin receptor 2C (5-HT.sub.2c), preferably selectively. The small molecules have a substituted beta-carboline core structure, which optionally may be saturated at one or more bonds to provide a dihydro-beta-carboline core or a tetrahydro-beta-carboline core. The small molecules may be administered to treat and/or prevent diseases, disorders, and/or conditions associated with human serotonin receptor 2C (5-HT.sub.2C) including psychiatric, mental, and/or neurological diseases, disorders, and conditions such as cognitive impairment, addiction, and obsessive compulsive disorder. The disclosed small molecules also may be administered to treat and/or prevent obesity, for example, via appetite suppression.

TAU-PROTEIN TARGETING PROTACS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS OF USE
The present disclosure relates to bifunctional compounds, which find utility as modulators of tau protein. In particular, the present disclosure is directed to bifunctional compounds, which contain on one end a VHL or cereblon ligand which binds to the E3 ubiquitin ligase and on the other end a moiety which binds tau protein, such that tau protein is placed in proximity to the ubiquitin ligase to effect degradation (and inhibition) of tau. The present disclosure exhibits a broad range of pharmacological activities associated with degradation/inhibition of tau protein. Diseases or disorders that result from aggregation or accumulation of tau protein are treated or prevented with compounds and compositions of the present disclosure.
