A greeting card that selectively opens and closes. The greeting card assembly simulates a firework display in the background of a foreground message when opened. The greeting card assembly has a card section that contains an internal compartment covered by a top panel. A plurality of cutouts are formed through the top panel that are shaped as firework starbursts. LEDs are positioned within the internal compartment for selectively backlighting the cutouts. A light diffusing element is interposed between the cutouts and the LEDs. A speaker is positioned within the internal compartment for playing a digital soundtrack of exploding fireworks. At least one foreground panel is provided that is positioned a distance from the top panel when the greeting card assembly is opened. When viewed, the foreground panels stand in front of a card section that is playing a soundtrack and flashing lights behind starburst cutouts to simulate background fireworks.

When the push button is depressed, the pop-up element is ejected or pops up out of the greeting card pocket or cavity, revealing a greeting or other printed indicia, a mobile object or a gift card attached thereto. The push button also initiates playback of a pre-loaded digital audio file, which may be a spoken message, a sound, a song, music or other such audio recording.

Reversible-hinge greeting card with dual-activated electronics

A reversible hinge greeting card with an electronic component is provided. The greeting card has a card body with a plurality of panels. One of the panels is a front panel, one of the panels is a back panel, and one of the panels is an intermediary panel. The intermediary panel and a connecting band connect the front panel to the back panel, such that the greeting card can open from right to left or from left to right. An electronic component is integrated within the connecting band. The electronic component includes at least one switch operably connected to the front panel and at least one switch operably connected to the back panel.

Greeting cards with multi-panel insert

An interactive greeting card with a multi-panel insert which can be unfurled over a portion of the greeting card. In one embodiment, there is a photo or drawing of a character or animal printed on the front cover. A tab is located to the left of and behind the photo or drawing. When a user grasps and moves the tab, a multi-panel paper construct unfurls around the photo or drawing and appears as a wig atop the head of the character or animal depicted in the photo or drawing. Audio replay may also triggered by moving the tab from its original position. In another embodiment, the panels of the multi-panel paper construct are each shaped like a different item or object which is complementary to the theme of the greeting card. Unfolding the multi-panel construct along an outside edge of the greeting card may initiate audio playback and may also activate a motor module which causes movement to at least one mobile object contained on the greeting card.

3D pop-up card assembly

A 3D pop-up card assembly having a base card and a foldable figure that pops up when the base card is opened. The foldable figure is attached to the base card using a plurality of paper hinge constructs. Each of the paper hinge constructs has a first tab, a second tab and a transition section. The transition section contains fold lines along which each of the paper hinge constructs can fold. The first tab of each paper hinge construct is attached to the base card. The second tab of each paper hinge construct is attached to the foldable figure. When the base card is opened, each paper hinge construct can rotate in unaligned planes, therein applying tension to the foldable figure as the orientation between the base card and the foldable figure changes.
