Embodiments comprise a greeting card with a self-retracting, pullout banner comprising banner content that may supplement a message or artwork included on panels of the greeting card. The self-retracting banner can be attached to different portions of the greeting card. The self-retracting banner may be affixed to an edge of the greeting card. A user may extend the banner by pulling a handle away from the greeting card. As such, the self-retracting banner is movable to and between a fully retracted and closed first position and a fully extended and open second position. The self-retracting banner can be at least partially concealed within a compartment attached to a portion of the greeting card, for example, the front panel.

A foldable article having a sliceform removably secured to one or more panels of the foldable article. A tab having a retaining portion may extend from at least one of the one or more panels of the foldable article. The tab may pass through an opening in the sliceform and the retaining portion may be wider than the width of the opening. The retaining member may be manipulated to pass through the opening to removably secure the sliceform to, and/or detach the sliceform from, the foldable article.

A combined gift card holder and bottle carrier topper includes a main panel having two oblong elements separated by an elongate channel and a gift card sleeve attached to the main panel. The main panel is inserted onto a bottle carrier by placing a portion of the bottle carrier into the channel. The gift card sleeve is then located outside the bottle carrier and a portion of the bottle carrier topper is located inside the bottle carrier.

A thin film video device is mounted onto a card stock and incorporated into a card, such as a greeting card. The thin film video device comprises a thin film video display coupled to a computer chip and a speaker. The thin film video device is powered by a local power source such as a small battery. The thin film video device is activated when the user unfolds the card, at which time an audiovisual message is displayed on the thin film video display and through the speaker.

This application is related to a greeting card that is conducive to automated printing, as well as methods and systems for printing on the greeting card. For example, the greeting card can include a three-dimensional (3D) card element that is containable, when the card is being printed, between a first panel of the greeting card and a protective panel of the greeting card. In addition, the greeting card can include a second panel for receiving a printed graphic (e.g., text, letters, numbers, pictures, symbols, etc.).

A foldable article having a sliceform removably secured to one or more panels of the foldable article. A tab having a retaining portion may extend from at least one of the one or more panels of the foldable article. The tab may pass through an opening in the sliceform and the retaining portion may be wider than the width of the opening. An aspect of the present invention includes a method for transferring a gift using a gift-transfer application. A digital gift can be associated with a unique tag identifier on a gift item, and the unique tag identifier can be used to retrieve the digital gift. Specifically, the method includes associating the unique tag identifier with an electronic gift of a particular monetary value and using a payment portal to charge a financial account an amount equal to the monetary value. The method further includes the gift-transfer application receiving a request including the unique tag identifier to redeem the electronic gift and, in response, sending a plurality of value-allocation links along with respective options for applying the monetary value to an electronic gift card of a respective merchant.
