STEVIA EXTRACTS ENRICHED IN REBAUDIOSIDE D, E, N AND/OR O AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF
A Stevia extract made from leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant is described. The extract has desired levels of steviol glycosides and is useful in food, beverage, and other consumable products.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR AXILLARY SHOOT MICROPROPAGATION OF CANNABIS AND RELATED PLANTS
A plant medium composition and methodology of application of the medium as it pertains to the micropropagation of Cannabis and related plant species is described that yields two to four-fold increase in the number of biologically functional nodes from axillary shoots thereby allowing for exponential amplification of such plant species. The compositions comprise basal plant media supplemented with: (i) one or more cytokinins, and (ii) one or more gibberellins and/or brassinolides. This achievement in exponential shoot growth of these plant species represents a marked step forward in the Cannabis industry as it pertains to commercial micropropagation of a recreationally and medicinally important plant whose extracts are the subject of numerous clinical trials.
Efficient plant transformation method
Disclosed herein are methods for the production of value added explants from the seeds of dicotyledonous cultivars of interest. Also described are methods of transformation using the value added explants produced by the methods disclosed herein.
System for rapid, robust, and efficient in vitro mass propagation of Miscanthus × giganteus
The present invention provides a longitudinally split immature tiller separated from a rhizome (LSITR), a duster of multiple in vitro shoots (CMIT), a cluster of stem segments containing shoot primordia (CSSSP) and an in vitro tiller of Miscanthus x giganteus (Giant miscanthus), and their uses in propagating Miscanthus x giganteus (Giant miscanthus).
Plant propagation system and method
A plant propagation system is described that can be utilized for micropropagation through early stages of plant development. A system can include multiple plant support matrices, containers for the matrices, and optionally a tool for separating sections of a plant support matrix from the remainder of the matrix. During use developing plant tissue can be transferred between matrices and growth media can be varied with little or no damage to developing plant tissue and lower chances for contamination of the developing plant tissues.
Composition and Methods for Producing Tobacco Plants and Products Having Reduced Tobacco-Specific Nitrosamines (TSNAs)
The present disclosure provides approaches for reducing tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) in tobacco. Some of these approaches include genetically engineering tobacco plants to increase one or more antioxidants, increase oxygen radicle absorbance capacity (ORAC), or reduce nitrite. Also provided are methods and compositions for producing modified tobacco plants and tobacco products therefrom comprising reduced TSNAs.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUBSTANTIALLY ISOLATING PLANT TISSUES
The present invention provides methods and devices for the rapid isolation of monocot plant embryos suitable for transformation or tissue culture. The invention includes mechanical devices for substantially isolating plant embryos for use as transformable explants. Media suitable for isolating plant embryos and methods for their preparation are also provided.
Plants comprising a low copy number of Ri genes
Described is a plant transformed with one or more genes originating from the Ri plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes by infection with A. rhizogenes comprising the Ri plasmid, or being progeny of such a plant, said plant or progeny comprising, in the genome thereof, 1 to 5 copies said one or more genes originating from the Ri plasmid. Further, the use of such a plant or progeny thereof as ornamental plants, the use as field crop species, for food extracts, cosmetics, perfumes or as medicinal plants is disclosed. Further disclosed are methods for the preparation of such plants. Said plants display an intermediate height and/or with a higher content of metabolites without significant reduction of flower number or flowering time delay as compared to control plants void of Agrobacterium rhizogenes sequences.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND KITS FOR MICROPROPAGATION OF CANNABIS
Provided herein are systems, methods and kits for micropropagating disease-free cannabis plants, referred to as the Clean Stock® method. Also provided are Clean Stock® cannabis plants produced using such systems, methods and kits.
SCREENING PLANT PROTOPLASTS FOR DISEASE RESISTANT TRAITS
Methods for screening plant cells, particularly plant protoplasts, for disease resistant traits, and kits for performing such methods are provided. The methods are performed in a microfluidic device that includes a flow region and at least one growth chamber suitable for culturing and screening a plant protoplast. The at least one surface of the growth chamber of the microfluidic chip can include a covalently linked coating material or a surface modifying ligand. The kit can comprise a microfluidic chip in combination with a reagent for detecting the viability of the plant protoplast and, optionally, a surface conditioning reagent or a surface modification reagent.
