REGENERATION AND TRANSFORMATION OF COSMOS BIPINNATUS PLANTLETS

Cosmos Bipinnatus cotyledons are isolated as explants, and the isolated explants are cultured onto a regeneration medium to obtain regenerated Cosmos Bipinnatus shoots. The regeneration medium optionally includes a basal medium, a cytokinin, an ethylene action inhibitor, and a nitrogen source.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PLANT CELL CULTURE

Compositions, kits, and methods for preparing a plant cell composition are provided. Compositions, kits, and methods for engineering plant cells are also provided. In some cases, compositions, kits, and methods provided herein can be used to produce cotton.

Plantlet Holder and Handling System
20170318753 · 2017-11-09 ·

A plantlet holder (25) is formed of nutrient solution-absorbing, open celled, phenolic foam, with an upper handling portion (55), an insertion well (60) for a plantlet and a lower portion (56) adapted to laterally locate in a ring (30) in a work stand (24), the handling portion (55) adapted to be frictionally gripped for robotic or manual handling. Robotic handling apparatus includes a pair of plantlet holder gripper manipulator arms (40) adapted to engage the handling portion (55) for movement of a plantlet holder (25) between a material source portion, an operator work portion (14), and a material delivery portion. The operator work portion (14) is characterised by the work stands (24) locating the plantlet holders vertically by a step portion (32).

CACAO CELL SUSPENSION PROTOCOL

Provided herein are methods for establishing Theobroma cell suspension cultures using young leaves as a source of explants. Also provided are induction, proliferation, and suspension media used for producing Theobroma cell suspension cultures. These methods and media may be useful for producing secondary metabolites in Theobroma, as well as for isolating virus particles associated with Theobroma diseases.

Stevia extracts

A Stevia extract made from leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant is described. The extract has desired levels of steviol glycosides and is useful in food, beverage, and other consumable products.

PLANTS COMPRISING A LOW COPY NUMBER OF RI GENES
20210388367 · 2021-12-16 ·

Described is a plant transformed with one or more genes originating from the Ri plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes by infection with A. rhizogenes comprising the Ri plasmid, or being progeny of such a plant, said plant or progeny comprising, in the genome thereof, 1 to 5 copies said one or more genes originating from the Ri plasmid. Further, the use of such a plant or progeny thereof as ornamental plants, the use as field crop species, for food extracts, cosmetics, perfumes or as medicinal plants is disclosed. Further disclosed are methods for the preparation of such plants. Said plants display an intermediate height and/or with a higher content of metabolites without significant reduction of flower number or flowering time delay as compared to control plants void of Agrobacterium rhizogenes sequences.

METHODS, SYSTEMS AND APPARATUS FOR PLANT MATERIAL SCREENING AND PROPAGATION
20220192121 · 2022-06-23 · ·

Provided are methods and systems for propagating plant material and the plant cells obtained thereby. The method comprises providing a solution comprising a plurality of plant protoplasts comprising an encapsulation medium or encapsulation medium precursor, introducing the solution into a microfluidic device, forming droplets of the solution in the microfluidic device, at least some of which encapsulate a single protoplast, causing the encapsulation medium or encapsulation medium precursor to gelify in the microfluidic device, and collecting the encapsulated protoplasts. The system comprises a microfluidic device comprising a droplet generator, a first injection system comprising a first liquid and configured for injecting the first liquid into the droplet generator, and a second injection system comprising a second liquid and configured for separately injecting a second liquid that is immiscible with the first liquid into the droplet generator. The first liquid is a solution comprising protoplasts and the first liquid comprises an encapsulation medium or encapsulation medium precursor, and the system is configured such that droplets are formed in the droplet generator, each droplet enclosing a single or no protoplast and comprising the encapsulation medium or encapsulation medium precursor. The encapsulation medium or encapsulation medium precursor in the droplets is gelified in the microfluidic to generate gelified droplets enclosing a single or no protoplast.
