METAL TRANSACTION CARD WITH REMOVABLE INDICIA

Metal transaction cards with removable indicia are provided. In some approaches, a transaction card may include a metal body having a first main side and a second main side, and an identification chip coupled to the first main side of the metal body. The transaction card may further include an exterior layer along the second main side, the exterior layer containing identifying indicia, wherein at least a portion of the exterior layer is removable from the second main side by at least one of: a set of perforations through the exterior layer, and a channel provided along an outer edge of the second main side.

A multi-layered identification card includes a light-conducting core layer. When the multi-layered identification card is exposed to an activated coherent light source, such as a bright white light or a laser, a perimeter of the light-conducting core layer illuminates. Selectively visible images and/or selectively visible text may be provided on or in one or more layers of the multi-layered identification card, which features become visible upon activation of the light source through one or more opaque layers of the identification card. A method for verifying the authenticity of a multi-layered identification card includes exposing the light-conducting core layer of the identification card to a light source, activating the light source, and observing the illuminated exposed portion of the perimeter of the light-conducting core.

Security sheets comprising security elements

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a security sheet comprising a security element (11), a core structure (10) for forming the security sheet, a stack (29) including such a core structure (10), a security sheet comprising the core structure (10) or stack (29) and a security document comprising the security sheet. At least one perforation (20) is formed through, from a first core surface (13) to a second core surface (14) of, at least one core layer (12) comprising plastic. A security element (11) is fed through the at least one perforation (20) such that the security element (11) extends through, from the first core surface (13) to the second core surface (14) of, the at least one core layer (12). At least one first region (17) of the security element (11) is located over part of the first core surface (13) and at least one second region (18) of the security element (11) is located over part of the second core surface (14).
