Liquid dressing compositions liquid for veterinary use in the treatment or prevention of infection and/or wounds are described that comprise shellac, an anti-infective metal active and a solvent. The compositions are capable of forming a barrier when topically applied to a non-human animal subject, providing an easily applied barrier for protecting lesions and other wounds from external infective agents in a veterinary setting.

A disinfecting composition may contain 0.001 to 5 mass % of an MPC copolymer containing a constituent unit based on 2-(meth)acryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine, 5 to 90 mass % of a lower alcohol, and 0.01 to 10 mass % of an aliphatic acid ester-based nonionic surfactant. The MPC copolymer may include one or more copolymer selected from of an MPC copolymer a having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 400,000 and an MPC copolymer b having a weight average molecular weight of 800,000 to 1,800,000. Such a disinfecting composition may be excellent in foam sustainability when it is discharged as a foam and that has moist feeling when it is applied.

The method includes applying a treatment preparation to a treatment site, the treatment preparation has a first component having a single amino acid, said single amino acid being leucine, and a second component having an active chlorine compound.

A formulation for vaginal administration comprising an effective amount of a composition of dried Lactobacillus cells and boric acid, with a carrier. In certain embodiments, provided is an antiseptic composition useful for making skin or hand sanitizers that have a long-lasting, great antiseptic efficacy but at the same time having skin-moisturizing, low toxicity and low skin-irritating, hypo-allergenic properties, low inflammability, and low production cost.
