An improved retractable liquid dispenser device comprises an outer body having an internal channel communicating with an open first end. A liquid dispenser includes a supply reservoir and a discharge reservoir with a valve disposed therebetween. A retractable mechanism slidably supports the liquid dispenser within the outer body. A retractable valve is located in proximity to the open first end of the outer body. A first depression of the retractable actuator opens the retractable valve and moves the liquid dispenser into the extended position for enabling a depression of the distal end of the liquid applicator to open the dispensing valve to permit liquid to flow from the supply reservoir into the dispensing reservoir to dispense the applicator liquid from the distal end of the liquid applicator. A second depression of the retractable actuator moves the liquid dispenser into the retracted position and closes the retractable valve to enclose the distal end of the liquid applicator within the outer body.

Provided is an aqueous ink composition for a writing instrument which is excellent in a drying property of the drawn lines and a low temperature stability of the ink while inhibiting the pen tip from drying and which prevents the drawn lines from causing feathering and strike-through.

The aqueous ink composition for a writing instrument described above contains at least a colorant, trimethylglycine, pentaerythritol, 10% by mass or less of a water-soluble organic solvent, and water.

The invention encompasses a sterile skin marker whose felt ink reservoir can be advanced by twisting the end of the marker revealing additional felt tip. The dried portion of the previously used felt tip can be cut off to reveal a fresh, ink saturated felt tip.

An aqueous ink composition for a writing instrument may form a uniform coating film with low glossiness and is excellent in scratch resistance and water-resistant adherence even when writing is performed on a non-absorbing surface, and a writing instrument. Such an aqueous ink composition may include at least a coloring material, a neutralized product of an isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer, a polyol having two or more OH groups, a water-soluble resin and/or a resin emulsion, and water.

A writing instrument including: a body extending longitudinally along a central axis; a resilient element fixed to at least one portion of the body. The resilient element of the at least one portion of the body is in one piece and is made of at least partially amorphous metal alloy.

A writing device can be configured to provide ink or a colored dye upon a piece of paper or other medium. Such a writing device can include a plurality of separately extendable writing elements and a housing with a plurality of holes upon a terminal end of the housing, each hole providing a dedicated outlet hole for one of the writing elements, the housing comprising one of an elliptical cross section, a circular cross section, and a rounded off square cross section.

Embodiments of the invention are directed to a roller ball marking instrument for use with paint, a method for assembling the roller ball marking instrument, and a system for delivering paint. The body of the marking instrument includes a reservoir for storing paint. The body is coupled to a fibrous roller ball via a retaining ring. The roller balls sits within a partially-enclosed cavity in the center of the retaining ring. A least part of the roller ball protrudes through an opening in the retaining ring. Paint in the reservoir moves first through an opening at one end of the body and then through an open center of the retaining ring. The paint is transferred to the roller ball. The roller ball rotates freely within the cavity of the retaining ring and transfers the paint to a writing surface.

An instrument includes a body, at least two modules, each separate from the one or other modules, including an operative portion and being movable relative to the body and, for each module, a mechanism for guiding the translation and rotation of the module along the body, the module being movable relative to the body, successively in translation parallel to a first axis and in rotation about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis and which is rigidly connected to the body, between an inoperative configuration in which the operative portion of the module is housed inside the body and a use configuration in which the operative portion of the module projects from the body.
