WRITING INSTRUMENT
20180250977 · 2018-09-06 ·

A writing instrument according to an embodiment of the invention including, a chuck that chucks a writing lead, wherein the chuck includes a first chuck pawl which comes into point contact or line contact with the writing lead to press the writing lead so as to apply first contact stress to the writing lead; and a second chuck pawl which presses the writing lead so as to apply, to the writing lead, second contact stress that is lower than the first contact stress, and the first contact stress is configured such that, when a prescribed impact is applied to the writing lead, a contact portion of the writing lead subjected to the first contact stress fractures and absorbs the prescribed impact.

MECHANICAL PENCIL

A mechanical pencil including: a body cylinder; a lead releasing unit configured to release a writing lead and having a rear region supported inside the body cylinder such that a front region thereof is flexurally deformable or tiltable inside the body cylinder; and a stretchable elastic body arranged between the lead releasing unit and a body cylinder, in which the lead releasing unit has a pressed portion on an outer circumferential surface of the front region, the body cylinder has a pressing portion in a front region, the pressing portion and the pressed portion abut on each other before the front region of the lead releasing unit is flexurally deformed or tilted, and the pressing portion causes the pressed portion to relatively move to the rear side with respect to the body cylinder when the front region of the lead releasing unit is flexurally deformed or tilted.

Writing Instrument Side-Knock Mechanism
20180154680 · 2018-06-07 ·

A side-knock type mechanical pencil comprising a body with a side-mounted knock button coupled to the body of the mechanical pencil and adapted to slidingly engage with a lead tube with a frustoconical hub for translating the motion of the knock button actuation to linear extension of the lead.

Anti-Rotation Extendable Eraser Mechanism
20180154682 · 2018-06-07 ·

An anti-rotation mechanism for a retractable eraser or other stick-like object for use with a writing instrument that utilizes locking elements to prevent the inadvertent retraction or extension of the eraser when pressure is applied to the eraser during the erasing operation.

Mechanical pencil

A mechanical pencil includes a clamping claw for playing a coordination role in lead output. An abutting member is arranged in front of the clamping claw. The rear end, corresponding to the clamping claw, of the abutting member is provided with an abutting portion. The abutting portion includes a first through hole allowing a lead to move through. The abutting portion can be inserted into the clamping claw in a case where the clamping claw moves forward and simultaneously drives the clamping claw to open outwardly. The mechanical pencil has a better lead output effect.

MECHANICAL PENCIL

A mechanical pencil includes a ball chuck, a rotation drive mechanism having a rotary part, a feedout cam face having a step part in the axial direction, an input member rotating upon receiving a rotational drive force of the rotary part, and an output member having an abutting part abutting against the feedout face and a slider provided with a holding chuck holding lead, the abutting part moves along the feedout face corresponding to rotation of the output member and so that advancing motion of the slider when the abutting part drops into the drop difference causes lead held by the holding chuck to be pulled out by the ball chuck, and further including a clutch mechanism transmitting rotational movement of the input member to the output member.
