A forming device and a method for forming an inner rim of an annular round blank. The forming device has a lower tool with a movable die and an upper tool arranged opposite the lower tool along a working axis A. By means of the die, the annular round blank is moved out of a transport plane T and into a forming position U towards the upper tool and into the interior of a holding sleeve. Subsequently, the inner rim is formed with the aid of a forming tool. After forming, the annular round blank is moved out of the forming position U and back into the transport plane T by means of the lower tool and/or the upper tool. The forming device and the forming method can occur while the round blanks are being fed to an embossing station while being transported by a revolving table.

In particular, with such a buffer, stamped plates and/or templates can be deposited on the first conveying component. The disclosure also relates to a process for operating such a production facility.

If the non-round hole is not in alignment with the non-round circular-blank core, the circular-blank core and the circular-blank ring are rotated relative to one another at the insertion location by generation of the pushing-in force. The circular-blank ring is preferably moved, by the pushing-in force, onto an alignment mandrel, which causes the circular-blank ring to rotate in its circumferential direction until the contours of the circular-blank core and of the hole are in alignment.

Embossing System

A marker plate embossing system is provided having an improved loading device, and improved chute and hopper systems. The loading device reduces the likelihood of marker plate misfeed. The chute and hopper systems allow the embossing of varying sized embossing plates, while reducing the likelihood of embossed marker plates being delivered in an incorrect stacked-order. A marker plate removal system is also provided for removing embossed marker plates from the hopper system without the marker plates falling out of the stacked-order.
