Material Removal from Inner Surface to Preserve Perception of Outer Surface Aesthetics
A veneer for a wall-mounted keypad may include indicia that are laser cut therethrough and that are representative of functions that may be performed by the keypad. The veneer may include a recess that extends into an inner surface of the veneer, proximate to the indicia. The recess may be shaped such that a perceived aesthetic of an outer surface of the veneer is preserved during formation of the indicia. The recess may for example have an organic shape defined by a curved outer perimeter that does not define any corners.
TILE WITH TEXTURE

Metallic decorative part for vehicle display device, and vehicle display device
A metallic decorative part for a vehicle display device includes a substrate body molded from a synthetic resin, a metal thin film that is formed of metal and deposited on a surface of the substrate body, and a plurality of grooves deposited on a surface of the metal thin film in accordance with a shape of the surface of the substrate body. The grooves are formed so that a width is larger than 0 and equal to or smaller than 3.0 m, and a height is larger than 0 and equal to or smaller than 1.0 m. Accordingly, the metallic decorative part for a vehicle display device can properly secure a metallic texture recognized by a viewer with a configuration in which the metal thin film is deposited on the surface of the substrate body made of resin.
DECORATIVE PART AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A DECORATIVE PART
A decorative part for an interior trim of a motor vehicle includes a wood veneer, wherein the wood veneer has depressions, which are introduced by stamping. The depressions are filled with a hardened metal paste, wherein the hardened metal paste is provided exclusively in the depressions.
METAL PLATE, PATTERNING APPARATUS AND PATTERNING METHOD USING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are a metal plate including a plurality of pattern portions, a patterning apparatus configured to form a plurality of patterns on the metal plate, and a patterning method using the same. The metal plate to be used in a household appliance includes a plurality of pattern portions in which a hairline pattern is formed on a surface of the metal plate, wherein the plurality of pattern portions includes a first pattern portion having a first hairline pattern and a second pattern portion having a second hairline pattern different from the first hairline pattern.

DECORATIVE SURFACE LAMINATE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A DECORATIVE SURFACE LAMINATE
A method of manufacturing a decorative surface laminate incorporates a sheet of cellulose-based inclusion paper. The inclusion paper includes a print surface having a porosity greater than 1.25% and a decorative ink finish digitally printed directly onto the print surface of the inclusion paper. Multiple sheets of backing paper are stacked with the inclusion paper, such that the backing paper resides adjacent the inclusion paper on a side opposite the print surface. The inclusion paper and backing paper are impregnated with a thermosetting resin. Using heat and pressure, the impregnated sheets of inclusion paper and backing paper are combined to form a flexible high-density laminate panel.
