SCARF FRAME USING MAGNETS
When a fabric exhibit is displayed in a general frame, technical assistance is necessary in installation and it is impossible to reuse the exhibit in some cases. Disclosed is a frame configured to remedy the above inconvenience so as to easily attach or detach a fabric exhibit to or from a rear portion of a frame component using a magnetic strip. The frame includes a frame component having a groove formed in a rear portion thereof into which a magnetic strip is inserted in a longitudinal direction, the magnetic strip inserted into the groove of the frame component, and a fixing magnetic strip configured to correspondingly fix the fabric exhibit with the magnetic strip inserted into the groove of the frame component.
Platen with hinged side walls for improved hooping
A platen and hoop configured to securely hold a garment in place on a platen. The platen and hoop can be used for automated printing of graphics, such as by direct to garment printing (DTG). The hoop has downward extending hoop sidewalls that can surround the platen structure when the hoop is fitted onto the platen. The platen has platen sidewalls that are hinged to a base of the platen, and which rotate upward to hold a fabric workpiece against the hoop sidewalls to securely hold the fabric workpiece during printing. The platen sidewalls can be formed with inward protruding tabs or feet located at their base, and which cause the platen sidewalls to rotate upward when engaged by the hoop sidewalls.
Canvas frame
A canvas frame includes an outer frame, a shoulder portion and a canvas. The outer frame includes a front surface facing a front side, a back surface facing a back side, and an interior wall extending between the front and back surfaces and surrounding an interior. The shoulder portion extends from the interior wall into the interior and includes a front surface facing the front side that is recessed from the front surface of the outer frame. The canvas is stretched across the interior and attached to the front surface of the shoulder portion using a plurality of fasteners. Each fastener has an exposed portion. A peripheral edge portion of the canvas includes scalloped portions between adjacent fasteners where the canvas sags toward the interior due to tension in the canvas between opposing fasteners.
System for retaining a substrate within a frame
A frame assembly includes a frame base and a rear panel including a plurality of side walls that are configured to be received within a plurality of side walls of the frame base. Along an external surface of each side wall of the rear panel there is at least one locking tab that is configured for reception within one corresponding locking opening of the frame base when the rear panel is inserted into the frame base so as couple the rear panel to the frame base in a snap-fitting manner and permit a canvas substrate to be captured therebetween for holding the canvas substrate across a front face of the frame base.
Method for retaining a substrate within a frame
A method for assembling a canvas print includes the steps of: preparing a canvas substrate that includes a printed side; placing the canvas substrate with the printed side facing down; disposing a base frame over the canvas substrate; folding edges of the canvas substrate over sides of the base frame; inserting a rear panel into the base frame; and pressing the rear panel downward until a snap-fit connection is realized between the rear panel and the base frame with the folded edges of the canvas substrate being captured between the rear panel and the base frame and being taught across a forward face of the base frame.
WRITING AND/OR DRAWING SYSTEM COMPRISING PH SENSITIVE DYE AND METHOD THEREOF
The invention refers to a writing and/or drawing system comprising a pH sensitive dye and a writing material having a pH configured to provide a change in the colour of said dye on said surface of the support, as well as to a method to write and/or draw on the system with the writing material.
FRAME FOR RECEIVING AND APPLYING TENSION TO A CANVAS AND METHOD
A method of applying tension to a canvas that is secured to a frame structure composed of frame members and corner pieces, wherein the frame members are interconnected using corner pieces adapted to receive ends of the frame members to form the frame structure, and wherein each of the frame members comprises a longitudinal axis. The method includes securing the canvas to a frame member; rotating the frame member around a rotation axis that is parallel with the length of the frame member, wherein the canvas, secured to the frame member, increases intension due to the rotation; and fixing the rotated frame member in the rotated position using the corner piece such that the increase in tension in the canvas is preserved.
System for Mounting a Covering upon a Frame
A system for mounting a covering (e.g., a fabric material) upon a frame is constructed from a plurality of elongated frame parts. Each frame part has two mitered ends and a channel formed therein. The related mounting method includes the steps of: (a) using a jig to hold the fabric material against the frame; (b) inserting a plurality of retaining splines within respective channels so as to capture the fabric material within the channels between one retaining spline and a corresponding floor of the channel, whereby a plurality of corner pleats are formed; and (c) using a tool to invert each corner pleat into a corner joint formed between respective adjacent frame parts so as to form an internal fold at each corner of the frame.
Device for tensioning a canvas on a frame
A device for stretching a canvas mounted to a frame comprises a spacer and a screw. The frame has a plurality of side members each mutually abutting at angled ends. A first portion of the spacer includes a central aperture therethrough and two opposing ends or sides. Each end of the first portion is sized to engage a contact surface of each side member. The screw has a threaded shaft adapted for rotational engagement with the central aperture of the first portion of the spacer. The threaded shaft terminates at a first end thereof with a screw head that has a frustoconical side wall and an end surface that includes a tool-engaging recess. Rotating the screw to move the screw head closer to the spacer causes the spacer to push the side members mutually away from each other to stretch the canvas.
