An antitheft nut may include a virtual reference line extending in a circumferential direction on a basis of a center with respect to one surface of a nut body, a plurality of key assembling portions continuously protruding or depressed along the virtual reference line, and an assembling line having the plurality of key assembling portions repeatedly formed while being spaced apart from each other in an inside direction and an outside direction of the virtual reference line.

Theft-resistant tire mounting assembly
09765807 · 2017-09-19 ·

A theft-resistant tire mounting assembly for deterring theft of wheels includes a wheel rim. Recesses are positioned proximate to a center of the wheel rim. An opening is centrally positioned in each recess. Nuts are configured to threadedly couple to the stud bolts of a wheel hub. One nut comprises a locknut, which has a second end that comprises an exposed face. A perimeter of the exposed face is complementary to the opening, and a keyhole is positioned in the exposed face. The assembly includes an adapter that has a key end, which is complementary to the exposed face. The locknut is incompatible with the socket of the tire iron, and a wrench is not couplable to a locknut that is threaded to the stud bolt. The key end is positioned to couple to the exposed face such that torque from the tire iron is transferable to the locknut.

Nut, in Particular Wheel or Axle Nut, Washer, Control Device for Wheel or Axle Nuts in Vehicles and Vehicle Provided Therewith

A nut, or a washer for a nut, in particular a wheel nut or axle nut for vehicles, having a body, having a central threaded hole, having a peripheral wall, having an abutment face at a lower side, wherein the nut also has a plurality of wrench faces on the peripheral wall of the nut body for tightening or releasing the nut by means of a tool which cooperates with the wrench faces. In order to be able to detect the loosening of wheel nuts or axle nuts of vehicles, and to indicate such loosening to a vehicle driver to avoid dangerous situations during driving, there is provided in the body at least one recess in which a sensor element is arranged, wherein the sensor element is connected to a wireless interface which is configured to transmit a sensor signal of the sensor element wirelessly to an external reception unit.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING A LOOSENED BOLTED WHEEL JOINT ON A WHEEL
20210396572 · 2021-12-23 ·

A method for detecting a loosened bolted wheel joint on a wheel of a vehicle. The angular velocity of a hub of the wheel is evaluated. A periodic wheel modulation of the angular velocity is ascertained. An oscillation of the wheel generated due to the loosened bolted wheel joint is detected, using a step-change in a phase angle of the modulation by an expected angular increment, which is a function of the number of bolts.
