Antimicrobial cleansing composition
This invention relates to an antimicrobial cleansing composition, especially one which provides synergistic anti-dandruff efficacy. This is achieved through a judicious combination of anti-dandruff agent zinc pyrithione and thymol in a composition comprising synthetic anionic surfactant.
COMPOSITION CONTAINING WATER-SOLUBLE NON-IONIC POLYURETHANE DISPERSION, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
Provided is a composition containing water-soluble non-ionic polyurethane, comprising (a) 0.1-30 parts of water-soluble non-ionic polyurethane dispersions by weight; (b) 10-30 parts of decontaminating surfactants by weight; (c) 0.01-5 parts of conditioning agents by weight; and (d) 100 parts of aqueous carriers by weight. The composition in the present invention is used as shampoo, and can make hair naturally strong and extend the volumizing duration of hair.
COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING OXIDATIVE STRESS-ASSOCIATED SKIN DISEASES AND SKIN AGEING AND DIAGNOSIS OF OXIDATIVE STRESS-ASSOCIATED SKIN DISEASES
The present application relates to the use of compositions comprising a live C. acnes strain secreting RoxP (radical oxygenase of Propionibacterium acnes) and compositions comprising RoxP or a biologically active variant or fragment thereof for treating or preventing oxidative stress-associated skin diseases or for preventing or reducing skin ageing. The application further relates to method for diagnosing oxidative stress-associated skin disease in a subject or for determining the benefit a subject would receive from administration of RoxP or a live C. acnes strain secreting RoxP, the methods comprising determining the quantity of RoxP or the quantity of C. acnes in a skin sample from the subject.
PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ANTIMALASSEZIA POWDER
A process for the preparation of anti-Malassezia powder.
The invention relates to a process the preparation of anti Malassezia mixture from bacillus species. it particularly relates to the production of antipeptide and polyketides from bacillus species using inexpensive fermentation medium. More particularly it relates to the use of macrolactin in anti Malassezia mixture.
SALICYLIC ACID GEL
A salicylic acid gel contains salicylic acid, a thickener, and a stabilizer compound. The gel may be diluted and/or incorporated into final skin care products.
TOPICAL ROFLUMILAST FORMULATION HAVING ANTIFUNGAL PROPERTIES
The present invention is directed to a method of treating a fungal infection comprising administering topically, to a subject in need thereof, an anti-fungal effective amount of roflumilast. Preferably, topically administered roflumilast is used to treat fungal infections, fungal growth of and/or hypersensitivity to the fungi Malassezia spp. Patients may also be suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, dupilumab facial redness, tinea versicolor, pityriasis versicolor, tinea circinata, tinea pedis, tinea unguium, tinea manus, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, tinea faciei, tinea capitis, and/or tinea incognito. Topically administered roflumilast is a quick and effective antifungal agent and presents a viable alternative to current antifungal treatments.
Prevention and/or treatment of inflammatory skin disease
Disclosed is a substance which down-regulates the activity of a MAST gene, or the activity of a transcription or translation product of a MAST gene, for use in the prevent and/or treatment of an inflammatory skin condition in a mammalian subject.
Compositions Comprising One or More (Bio)-Alkanediols with Antioxidants
The present invention is in the field of antioxidants and relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, compositions or homecare product comprising or consisting of a synergistic combination of a specific antioxidant and an effective amount of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols and the use of said compositions as a cosmetic, for personal care, as a pharmaceutical or homecare product, in particular for scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), for inhibition matrix metalloproteinases expression and/or for inhibiting interleukin 8 (IL-8) secretion. Additionally, the present invention relates to the use of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols for enhancing the antioxidative effect of an antioxidant in a cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, composition or homecare product, and/or for enhancing the antioxidative effect of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, composition upon application.
Light augmented treatment method
The present invention is directed to a method of treating skin and scalp comprising applying on the scalp or skin a composition comprising a scalp care active selected from the group consisting of 2-Pyridinol-N-oxide, a pyrithione or a polyvalent metal salt of pyrithione, one or more iron chelator having an A log P value of greater than or equal to 0.4 and mixtures therein; exposing the scalp and skin to electromagnetic radiation having wavelength from about 350 nm to about 500 nm and power from about about 0.1 mWatts/cm.sup.2 to about 1000 mWatts/cm.sup.2 and for a time period from about 2 seconds to about 5 minutes; wherein the antimicrobial treatment results in reduction of fungal growth as measured by the Fungal Growth Sensitivity Test of at least 50% compared to the dark sample.
Antimicrobial antifungal composition
A synergistic antimicrobial composition for use in personal care products functions as an antifungal agent in hair shampoo and hair care products, and includes (A) an undecylenic acid based phosphobetaine depicted by Formula I, where R=Undecylenic acid: ##STR00001##
