A clear personal cleansing composition having an anionic surfactant, a cationic deposition polymer, an aqueous carrier and a level of inorganic salt of from about 0 to about 1 wt %. The composition is substantially free of sulfates and has a % T of greater than about 80%. The composition can further comprise amphoteric surfactants. The composition remains phase stable and minimizes coacervate formulation until after dilution with water.

The present invention is direct to a hair care composition comprising from about 8 to about 17% of one or more surfactants; from about 0.1-0.25% of salicylate salts or acids; from about 0.1-0.25% of benzoate salts or acids wherein there is a weight ratio of about 1:1 to 2.5:1 for the salicylate salts or acids to sodium benzoate salts or acids.

The present invention is directed to a hair care composition having an effective amount of a 2-pyridinol-N-oxide material and an effective amount of an iron chelator; wherein the combination of the iron chelator and the 2-pyridinol-N-oxide material provides high anti-fungal efficacy.

Disclosed is a hair care composition comprising a (i) a benzophenone or benzophenone derivative which is one or more components selected from benzophenone, benzophenone-1, benzophenone-2, benzophenone-3, benzophenone-6, benzophenone-7, benzophenone-8, benzophenone-10 and benzophenone-12 thereof; (ii) a piroctone olamine; (iii) a silicone compound; a cosmetically acceptable carrier; wherein amount of said benzophenone or benzophenone derivatives is 0.2 to 10% by weight of the total composition. A hair treatment composition comprising: i) a cleansing phase comprising a surfactant, in which at least 50 wt % of the total surfactant comprises an ethoxylated alkyl sulphate anionic surfactant; ii) an oil-in-water emulsion comprising a silicone; iii) a piroctone compound at a level of 0.15 to 1.5 wt % of the composition; and iv) a cationic polymer in which the cationic polymer comprises a dimethyl diallyl ammonium moiety, at a level of 0.1 to 1.0 wt % of the composition; wherein the anti-dandruff agent component in the composition is less than 50 wt % in solid form.

Disclosed is a hair care composition comprising a compound of the formula (1) and a photolabile antidandruff agent wherein said photolabile antidandruff agent is piroctone olamine. The compound of formula (1), which is a 2(1H)-pyridinone, may be a degradation product of piroctone olamine on exposure to UV radiation and has been shown to improve the stability of piroctone olamine. ##STR00001##

Disclosed is an antidandruff composition comprising low amounts of piroctone olamine which synergistically interacts with benzoic acid or a salt thereof and itaconic acid or an ester thereof. The composition may be used for personal cleansing and is especially preferred to be delivered as a shampoo or hair conditioner.
