VEHICLE WHEEL HUB COVER, VEHICLE WHEEL, POWERED VEHICLE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
The present disclosure relates to a vehicle wheel hub cover, a vehicle wheel, a powered vehicle, and a related method of manufacture. The vehicle wheel hub cover comprises a first curved region and at least two protrusions radially disposed about a periphery of the first curved region. Each of the at least two protrusions comprises a first end, a second end, an elongate portion extending from the first end to the second end, and an inner surface defining a cavity configured to receive a lug of a vehicle wheel. The first ends of each of the at least two protrusions are disposed within a plane. The first curved region extends radially inwardly from a first location on each of the elongate portions of the at least two protrusions and towards the plane.
PARTIAL WHEEL CLADDING
A wheel assembly including a cover portion permanently attached to a wheel. The wheel includes a wheel central hub portion, a wheel outer peripheral rim portion, a plurality of wheel spoke portions extending between the wheel central hub portion and the wheel outer peripheral rim portion, and a plurality of wheel turbine openings disposed between adjacent ones of the plurality of wheel spoke portions. A cover portion is configured to overlie a portion of the wheel portion. The cover portion is configured to overlie one or more of the wheel central hub portion; the plurality of wheel spoke portions, and the plurality of turbine openings or the wheel outer periphery. An adhesive is disposed between an outboard surface of the wheel and the inboard surface of the cover portion to permanently secure the cover portion to the wheel portion. When the cover portion is secured to the wheel, substantial portions of the plurality of wheel spokes, the wheel central hub, or wheel outer periphery remain exposed.
METHOD OF FORMING A WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Disclosed is a method of forming a wheel assembly consisting of a wheel portion and a cover portion. The method includes handling the wheel portion from dunnage to a work cell with an outboard face of the wheel portion facing away from a supporting surface. Next, determining a planar position and a rotational position of wheel portion and retrieving the cover portion. The method proceeds with applying an adhesive to at least one of the back side of the cover portion and the outboard face of the wheel portion. Then, aligning the cover portion with the wheel portion utilizing the planar position and the rotational position. The next step is engaging the cover portion and the wheel portion with one another and maintaining the wheel portion in engagement with the cover portion for a predetermined amount of time with a predetermined amount of pressure to form the wheel assembly.
Vehicle Wheel for a Vehicle
A vehicle wheel for a vehicle has a plurality of spokes, lamellac, blades, wheel segments or similar which are arranged on an outer side of the vehicle wheel, a kinematic system, via which the contour of the outer side of the vehicle wheel can be changed, and a slide element which is adjustable between an inner position and an outer position. The spokes, lamellae, blades, wheel segments or similar are hinged on the slide element and are adjustable together with the slide element.
Flexible wheel cover overlay with extended surround
A snap-on wheel cover overlay made of a flexible material includes a peripheral boundary defining an inner surface and an outer surface, a surround extending from the peripheral boundary, a plurality of spokes and a plurality of openings, and a plurality of clasp mechanism pairs. Each opening of the plurality of openings passes from the outer surface through the inner surface and is located between each successive spoke of the plurality of spokes. The plurality of clasp mechanism pairs extends from the inner surface with a first clasp mechanism located on a first edge of one spoke and a second clasp mechanism located on a second edge of a succeeding spoke. The wheel cover overlay is capable of forming a first degree of curvature greater than 2.0? for a 10 cm first arc length of a first arc of a circle having a center point on a line extending from a central vertical axis of the wheel cover overlay and arcing away from a central horizontal axis of the wheel cover overlay.
Vehicle wheel with hidden colored surfaces
A wheel for a vehicle, which includes a mount configured to mount the wheel to a hub of the vehicle; a colored surface that is hidden from direct view from an outside environment when the wheel is mounted to the hub; and a contoured reflective surface optically aligned to reflect the colored surface into view of the outside environment when the wheel is mounted, thereby appearing to alter a color of the reflective surface.
Vehicle wheels
An insert for a vehicle wheel having a plurality of spokes which define, in part, an outwardly-facing wheel surface, and further define between adjacent ones of the spokes, a cavity for receiving the insert, in use, the insert comprising: an outer profile of complementary shape to the cavity and arranged to fit securely within the cavity, in use; and a flow redirecting surface which is aerodynamically shaped so as to reduce drag on an adjacent spoke of the wheel, in use.
TWO-SHOT MOLDING FOR SELECTIVELY METALIZING PARTS
A method of making a work piece without the use of an auxiliary anode and a work piece created using the method are provided. The work piece includes a main face being generally planar. The work piece also includes a first area comprising a plateable resin configured to be plated using the plating process without the auxiliary anode and having a first current density during the plating process. Additionally, the work piece includes a second area comprising a non-plateable resin configured to not be plated using the plating process without the auxiliary anode. The first area and the second area are determined by a process referencing a predetermined minimum current density value with the first current density being greater than the predetermined minimum current density value.
Protector shield for a sidewall of a motor vehicle tire, and a wheel assembly for such a vehicle incorporating it
The present invention relates to a protector shield for at least one sidewall of a motor vehicle tire, and to a wheel assembly for a motor vehicle incorporating this protector shield. The invention particularly but non exclusively concerns the fire protection against flames and/or said flammable substances, such as oil or Molotov cocktails, as well as a high solvent and/or acid resistance, especially in hostile environments. A protector shield of the invention is in a form of a curved ring designed to be mounted on a wheel rim receiving said tire and, according to the invention, the shield includes a fire protection part which defines an outer convex face of said shield and which comprises a cross-linked rubber composition which particularly exhibits flame retardant and heat resistance properties for imparting to said tire an improved fire protection against flames and/or flammable substances.
