The present invention relates to the cosmetic use of a Bixa orellana extract for preventing and/or reducing sebum secretion and/or for preventing and/or reducing the unaesthetic and/or unpleasant and/or uncomfortable manifestations of sebum secretion. It also relates to a cosmetic care method, characterized in that it comprises the topical application to at least one area of skin, advantageously of the scalp, of a Bixa orellana extract for preventing and/or reducing sebum secretion and/or for preventing and/or reducing the unaesthetic and/or unpleasant and/or uncomfortable manifestations of sebum secretion. Finally, it relates to a Bixa orellana extract for use in the treatment and/or prevention of a pathological condition associated with sebum hyperproduction chosen from pathological hyperseborrhoea and seborrhoeic eczema and/or any combination thereof.

The present invention is directed to kit for cleansing and refreshing the hair and the scalp comprising (1) a leave-on aqueous cleansing composition comprising (a) a 1,2-diol having a carbon chain with a length of more than 8 carbons in its molecule, and (b) hydrophobic particles, and (2) a substrate for partially removing the leave-on aqueous cleansing composition from the hair and the scalp. The present invention is also directed to a method of cleansing and refreshing the hair and the scalp by applying a leave-on aqueous cleansing composition on the hair and the scalp and partially removing the composition using the substrate.

A method of providing a treatment for cleaning and removing oils from hair includes providing a cosmetic that includes a blend of a powder phase including at least two absorbents selected from the group of mica, silica, starch, talc, kaolin and zeolite, and at least one emollient with a solvent phase.
