Conditioning Composition

A conditioning composition is free of talc and includes tapioca starch, optionally potato starch, optionally corn starch, at least one anionic surfactant, and optionally at least one amphoteric surfactant, which may be described as a core particle. The conditioning composition may include, or be free of, a coating disposed about at least a portion of the core particle and having a compound chosen from cellulose polymers, anionic or cationic polymers, vinyl polymers, natural polymers, polysaccharides, copolymers thereof, and combinations thereof. The conditioning composition includes from about 0 to about 25 percent by weight of liquid, has a pH of from about 3.5 to about 5 when mixed with water at about 10 wt % and produces a flash foam of less than about 10 ml when contacted with water at a temperature of about 26 to about 30° C. degrees.

and X is a suitable non-interfering anion, a process for making the compound having Formula (I) or Formula (II), and a process for reacting the compound having Formula (I) or Formula (II) or a mixture thereof with a (poly)saccharide to form a cationized (poly)saccharide.

HAIR CARE COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING HYDROXYLATED TRIGLYCERIDE OLIGOMERS
20220401322 · 2022-12-22 ·

Disclosed are hair care compositions, such as shampoos, conditioners and leave on treatments, containing one or more hydroxylated triglyceride oligomers. Also disclosed are methods of using the hair care compositions.

N-ACYL AMINO ACID SURFACTANTS AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

Surfactant compositions and derivatives with low amounts of impurities are disclosed along with a method of making the same. A surfactant composition includes greater than 80% by weight of N-acyl amino acid surfactant of formula (I) and is substantially free of solvents and/or NaCl. A process for preparing an N-acyl amino acid surfactant includes combining an amino acid, a waterless base and a fatty alkyl ester of formula (III) to form a mixture that includes an amino acid salt of formula (II). The temperature of the mixture is increased to form a reaction mixture. Alkyl alcohol is removed from the reaction mixture, and the reaction mixture becomes substantially clear.

BLENDS OF N-ACYL ALANINATES AND OTHER N-ACYL AMINO ACID SURFACTANTS AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

A surfactant composition includes a homogeneous mixture of greater than 70%, by weight, of N-acyl alaninate surfactant of formula (I) and an N-acyl amino acid surfactant of formula (II). A process for preparation of a blend of an N-acyl alaninate surfactant and an N-acyl amino acid surfactant includes combining (a) an alanine amino acid and (b) other amino acid, an anhydrous alkali salt of the other amino acid, or both, a waterless base, and a fatty alkyl ester of formula (V) to form a mixture including alanine amino acid salt of formula (III), and other amino acid salt of formula (IV). The process further includes increasing the temperature of the mixture to 180° C. or less to form a reaction mixture. The process further includes continuously removing alkyl alcohol from the reaction mixture and allowing the reaction mixture to become substantially clear to form the blend.
