METHODS FOR TREATING HAIR
The present disclosure relates to methods for treating hair with lactones. The lactones form a covalent thio-ester bond with free thiols groups on chemically treated hair, and thereby impart a “repairing” or “conditioning” effect to the hair, for example, by making the hair more hydrophobic. Typically, after hair has been treated with a composition comprising one or more reducing agents that reduce disulfide bonds of hair to free thiols, a composition comprising one or more lactones is applied to the hair and the one or more lactones react with the free thiols to form a covalent thio-ester bond. Treatment with the lactones prevents reversion of the repaired bonds to their free thiol state after a single application.

PROCESS FOR RESHAPING KERATIN FIBERS
Processes and kits-of-parts reshape keratin fibers by applying a composition onto hair and covering the hair, wherein the composition comprises ammonia and one or more organic alkalizing agents. Additionally, the hair is put under tension using a curler with covering the curler with a moisture barrier, and heating the keratin fibers. As a result, long-lasting curl having cosmetic properties are achievable and an ammonia smell is reduced when directly compared to compositions having no organic alkalizing agent.

Cosmetic
The present invention relates to cosmetics comprising a hydroxyl compound obtained by the reaction of a di- or higher-valent alcohol with a monovalent carboxylic acid and dimer acid, characterized in that the hydroxyl compound is obtained by reacting diglycerin with isostearic acid, and then reacting the obtained ester compound with dimer acid, wherein a molar ratio among diglycerin, isostearic acid and dimer acid is in the range of 1.0:1.4 to 1.6:0.5 to 0.8. The present invention provides cosmetics comprising the hydroxyl compounds having a high hydroxyl value.
