The invention relates to a cover for a wheel rim of a wheel, more particularly for a wheel rim of an alloy wheel for motor vehicles, wherein the wheel rim has a rim inner well, which merges into a rim inner flange that is arranged facing a motor vehicle when the wheel is mounted, and as a result, the wheel rim has an uninterrupted contoured section on the axially inner side. The invention, the rim inner flange can be sealed in the axial direction (a) by means of the cover. The invention further relates to a wheel, particularly having such a cover.

The present invention explains a process for manufacturing tubeless vehicle wheel without welding using a hoop 100 having an outboard end 101, a centre region 102, an inboard end 103. The process includes spinning the outboard end 101 to obtain a disc region 202, spinning disc end 203 to obtain preform nave region 301. Forming the disc region 202 to obtain a disc profile 401 and a nave region 403, forming the centre region 102, inboard end 103 to obtain a straight rim profile 402. Spinning and forming outer end 405 of the straight rim profile 402 to obtain an outboard flange 502a and spinning the straight rim profile 402 to obtain a concave rim profile 601a with a preform inboard flange 602a. Spinning the concave rim profile 601a to obtain bead seats 701a, well region 703a and, forming the preform inboard flange 602a to obtain an inboard flange 704a.

A wheel rim having a reinforcement structure is disclosed. The wheel rim has two connected side walls and a connecting wall. An outer peripheral edge is connected to each side wall. Either end of the connecting wall is connected to a connecting edge. The outer peripheral edge intersects the connecting edge. A joint portion is formed at an intersection of the connecting wall and the connecting edge. The joint portion is spaced from the corresponding side wall. A reinforcement edge is connected between each side wall and the connecting wall. A hollow support region is enclosed by the corresponding side wall, the outer peripheral edge, the connecting edge, the connecting wall and the reinforcement edge. The joint portion and the side wall do not concentrate external force on the side wall, thereby achieving the effect of reducing the external force acting on the wheel rim and dispersing the force.

Racing wheel

A wheel is provided that combines the principles of a beadlock wheel and a liner wheel for improved performance in motor racing, in particular drag racing. The wheel has beadlock rings that fasten to inner and outer rims of the wheel to secure an outer tire, and the wheel has knurls interior to the inner and outer rims to secure an inner tire. Projections from the inner and outer rims are arranged to accommodate the various functions of the combination of the beadlock rings and the inner tire. The projections counterintuitively add weight to the wheel, yet the combination of beadlock rings and an inner tire results in improved stability and safety as well as faster times on the racetrack.
