The present invention provides a medical device comprising: a main body; and two or more fixed casters and at least one floating caster, which are connected to a bottom portion of said main body and support said main body, wherein said floating caster is capable of floating in the vertical direction relative to said main body.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLED OMNIDIRECTIONAL MOVEMENT OF PAYLOADS

A payload platform includes a platform and a castor assembly coupled to the platform. The castor assembly includes a body, a first wheel coupled to the body, and a second wheel coupled to the body. The first wheel and the second wheel are individually actuatable. A sensor is coupled to the body. A control unit is operably coupled to the sensor and operably coupled to the first wheel and to the second wheel. The sensor detects an area surrounding the platform, determines presence of obstacles, and transmits a signal to the control unit corresponding to the area surrounding the platform. The control unit directs the first wheel and the second wheel to rotate in a prescribed manner so as to achieve a prescribed movement of the platform.

Load transporting apparatus

A load transporting apparatus is described including: a main body; a ground engaging wheel positioned at or towards one end of the main body and supported for rotation about a generally horizontal axis; a support member, which is connected to the main body, and which supports a pair of wheel assemblies, each assembly including a wheel which is supported for rotation about a generally horizontal wheel axis, wherein said wheel assembly permits the wheel to swivel about a swivel axis which is substantially perpendicular to the wheel axis and off-set therefrom; wherein the support member is connected to the main body by connection means which permits movement of the main body towards and away from the support member. Also described is an apparatus where the or a further connection means is configured to permit rotation of the support member relative to the main body about an axis which extends generally in a fore-aft direction of the apparatus.

Hollow wheel assembly of luggage

A hollow wheel assembly of a luggage includes a wheel mount, two wheel members, and a hollow shaft. The wheel mount has a shaft sleeve, in which the hollow shaft is received. The wheel members are connected to opposite ends of the hollow shaft for free rotation. The hollow shaft has a vision passage, and the wheel members have a plurality of vision bores, whereby one may see through the wheel members via the vision bores and the vision passages when the wheel members are rotating.

Durable quiet hubless caster technology

Embodiments of the present invention provide a hubless caster that is at least as aesthetically pleasing as prior art hubless casters but that is significantly more durable. In one aspect, a hubless caster is provided that includes a frame member having two opposed sides. A generally ring-shaped mount portion projects from at least one of the two opposed sides of the frame member. In some embodiments, the hubless caster has the following three components mounted on the mount portion, in sequence moving radially outwardly from the mount portion: a) an annular backbone member defining an inner bearing race, b) a rolling element, and c) a wheel defining an outer bearing race.

Stabilized luggage

A stabilized luggage article is disclosed. In one practice, the luggage article comprises a plurality of swiveling wheel assemblies, each assembly comprising one or more wheels having a horizontal axis of rotation and mounted to a pivot member, such as a pivot post that has a vertical axis of wheel rotation; the vertical axis of rotation is laterally spaced from the horizontal axis of rotation and is projected outwardly toward the front wall of the luggage but not beyond it, the pivot post extending downwardly at least to the level of the horizontal axis of wheel rotation, preferably beyond it for further increased stability.

Trolley case capable of displaying weight in a static state consisting of a weighing transducer affixed to the caster

A trolley case capable of displaying weight in a static state allows the bracket fixing shaft not to offset in a radial direction through the configurations of a directional bearing and shaft liner, and allows a weighing transducer to sense the weight of a case body accurately by installing the weighing transducer on the directional bearing and fixing the weighing transducer to the upper end face of the bracket fixing shaft, thereby not causing a weight displaying value to change, realizing a static display, and thus giving users the convenience of use.

Caster yoke for manufacture of a set of wheeled caster assemblies
10005319 · 2018-06-26 · ·

A caster yoke for use in the manufacture of a set of wheeled caster assemblies wherein each caster assembly of the set of caster assemblies is capable of having unique functional capabilities relative to each other caster assembly of the set arising from different combinations of caster components (selected from a set of pre-determined of caster components) being mountable on each respective caster yoke of the set of wheeled caster assemblies. To this end, the caster yoke is provided with all of the mounting features necessary to selectively mount all of the respective caster components of the pre-determined set on the caster yoke, such that the same form of caster yoke may be used without modification as a mounting frame to create a set of caster assemblies having different functionalities, significantly reducing design, production and inventory costs for the set of caster assemblies.

PRESSURED BRAKING WHEEL

A pressured braking wheel includes a wheel seat, an axle sleeve, a first wheel rim and a second wheel rim. The wheel seat has an accommodation space and a braking tenon. The axle sleeve is arranged in the accommodation space and sleeves a wheel axle. Inner sides of the first wheel rim and the second wheel rim are respectively annularly provided with first tenon grooves and second tenon grooves. The first wheel rim and the second wheel rim pivotally connect with the axle sleeve through the wheel axle. The first tenon groove and the second tenon groove are arranged under the braking tenon. When the wheel seat is pressed down, the wheel seat inserts the braking tenon into the first tenon groove and the second tenon groove, so as to prevent the first wheel rim and the second wheel rim from rotating with respect to the wheel seat.
