A patient transport apparatus comprises a support structure. The support structure comprises a base, a frame, and a patient support surface to support a patient. The patient transport apparatus also includes a first and a second caster assembly respectively coupled to the support structure to facilitate movement of the support structure along a floor surface, with the first caster assembly comprising a first brake assembly and the second caster assembly comprising a second brake assembly. The patient transport apparatus also includes an actuator assembly operatively coupling the first and second brake assemblies, with the actuator assembly comprising a first and second actuator respectively operatively coupled to the first and second brake assemblies. The actuator assembly further comprises a cable assembly interconnecting the first and second actuator that places the operatively coupled first and second brake assemblies in the braked state or the unbraked state.

Suspension caster with brake lever and wheel fork and yoke portion having common pivot axis

A caster has a yoke portion and wheel forks pivotally connected to the yoke portion at a pivot connection. The pivot connection defines a pivot axis. A wheel is rotatably connected to the wheel fork at a wheel axis. A brake lever is operatively connected to the pivot connection to pivot about the pivot axis. The brake lever moves a brake pad between an engaged position and a disengaged position as the brake lever is pivoted about the pivot axis. In the engaged position, brake pad is pressed against the wheel with a cam operatively connected to the brake lever, and wherein the disengaged position, the cam cooperates with the brake pad in a manner such that the brake pad releases from the wheel.

EXERCISE MACHINE

An exercise machine has a mobile base and an upright support extending upwards from the mobile base. An upper support assembly extends forward from an upper portion of the upright support and an exercise device is suspended from the upper support assembly at a location spaced forward from the upright support. The exercise machine may include a compact and safe counterbalancing gas spring mechanism that tends to move the exercise device away from the exerciser, and that requires a force to be applied to move an exercise device down towards the exerciser. The exercise machine may include an exercise device that is rotatable along a vertical axis, and may be coupled to an adjustable monitor for a wide range of uses. The exercise machine may be used by a exerciser lying supine, sitting in a chair or wheelchair, or standing in front of or adjacent the exercise machine.

SWIVEL CASTOR ARRANGEMENT FOR A PIECE OF FURNITURE AND A BED WITH THE SWIVEL CASTOR ARRANGEMENT

A swivel castor arrangement for a piece of furniture comprises: a holder; a swivel castor including a wheel mounted rotatably about a first axis on a frame mounted rotatably about a second axis on the holder; and a U-shaped bracket having a web connecting two legs attached rotatably about a third axis. The bracket is pivotable about the third axis between first and second positions and is movable into the second position when the first and third axes are substantially parallel. The wheel is arranged in the second position between the bracket legs such that free rotation of the frame about the second axis is restricted, and the wheel in the first position is not arranged between the bracket legs such that free rotation of the frame about the second axis is possible. The bracket is pivotable by less than 90? to switch between the first and second positions.

A caster device for a pipe leg includes a caster unit, a mounting unit, and a braking unit. The caster unit includes a wheel seat subunit, a caster subunit that is rotatably connected to a bottom end of the wheel seat subunit, and a protection subunit that is located between the wheel seat subunit and the caster subunit. The mounting unit is mounted to the wheel seat subunit and is adapted to be mounted to the pipe leg. The braking unit extends through the protection subunit and the wheel seat subunit into the mounting unit, and is movable in an up-down direction between a braking position, in which the braking unit projects out of the protection subunit and is in contact with the caster subunit so that the caster subunit is refrained from rotating, and an initial position, in which the braking unit is spaced apart from the caster subunit.
