A movable umbrella base comprises a housing (1), a wheel frame (2) disposed under the bottom of the housing (1), at least three wheels (3) connected at intervals to the wheel frame (2) and located partially under the wheel frame (2), a plurality of air bags (4) located inside a space defined by the wheel frame (2) and the housing (1), and a plurality of elastic members (6) limit displacement of the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) from the housing (1); when the air bags (4) are inflated, the housing (1) is lifted up relative to the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) from the ground; when the air bags (4) are deflated, the housing (1) is lowered relative to the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) and contacts the ground. The umbrella base can be moved by the air bags (4), the whole operation process is easier, and it saves more time and effort.

A retractable furniture carriage is capable of supporting a piece of furniture off of a floor, and allowing the furniture to be rolled across the floor. The retractable furniture carriage includes wheels mounted by a frame to the furniture. The frame can be pivoted for moving the wheels between a deployed position in which they engage and support the furniture to a stowed position in which the wheels are off the floor. Actuation of the frame can be carried out from the side of the furniture through frame structure largely located underneath the furniture.

An electronic gaming machine includes a cabinet and a pair of retractable wheel assemblies mechanically coupled to the cabinet. Each retractable wheel assembly includes a first retractable wheel and a second retractable wheel. An autonomous delivery vehicle having one or more caster wheels that may be held off the ground for a portion of the time that the autonomous delivery vehicle travels. Each caster wheel is mounted in a pivot with a centering mechanism to hold the caster wheels in a design orientation. The caster wheel in the design orientation maximizes the view of forward-looking sensors on the autonomous delivery vehicle. The centering mechanism uses a compression spring that drives a follower and swashshaft to apply a rotation force on the caster wheels. The rotational force urges the casters frame and wheels to return to a design position. The rotational force increases with the rotational difference between the caster rotational position and the design position.

The invention relates to a wheel assembly for a patient support apparatus comprising a fixed portion, a pivoting portion attached to the fixed portion and a wheel operatively connected to the pivoting portion, the wheel, which can be motorized, being movable between a first deployed position and a second retracted position. The wheel assembly has a spring assembly for urging the wheel in the first deployed position and an actuator to raise the wheel in the second retracted position. The invention also relates to a control handle for a motorized bed comprising a handle member having an actuatable trigger for controlling propelling of the bed, the handle member further comprising a user interface configured for providing bed information to the operator.

A base module is for a mobile medical system, designed to cover distances autonomously or semi-autonomously. The base module includes a chassis having a plurality of rolling bodies. The rolling bodies are mounted to rotate about axes of rotation and, via adjusting devices, are adjustable in the vertical direction such that each respective rolling body is movable between a first position, in which the respective rolling body is in contact with a floor area, and a second position, in which the respective rolling body is spaced apart from the floor area. A lift mechanism for a wheel assembly includes a lever arm having a first axis of rotation, and a first torque transfer plate having a second axis of rotation coincident with the first axis of rotation. A lift block is engageable by the first torque transfer plate and has a first angularly disposed surface and a resting surface adjacent to the first angularly disposed surface. The lift mechanism is configured such that rotation of the lever arm causes the first torque transfer plate to rotate into engagement with the lift block, thereby causing linear motion of the lift block. The wheel assembly is raised and lowered by contact between a portion of the wheel assembly and the first angularly disposed surface of the lift block and held in a raised position when the portion of the wheel assembly is positioned with respect to the resting surface.

A lift mechanism for a wheel assembly includes a lever arm having a first axis of rotation, and a first torque transfer plate having a second axis of rotation coincident with the first axis of rotation. A lift block is engageable by the first torque transfer plate and has a first angularly disposed surface and a resting surface adjacent to the first angularly disposed surface. The lift mechanism is configured such that rotation of the lever arm causes the first torque transfer plate to rotate into engagement with the lift block, thereby causing linear motion of the lift block. The wheel assembly is raised and lowered by contact between a portion of the wheel assembly and the first angularly disposed surface of the lift block and held in a raised position when the portion of the wheel assembly is positioned with respect to the resting surface.
