Telescoping axle insert with contoured inner end for an agricultural product applicator

A telescoping axle arrangement is provided for an agricultural applicator having a frame supported above a ground surface by a ground engaging wheel operatively connected to the frame by the telescoping axle arrangement. A tubular first axle element, and a second axle element slidingly inserted into the first element operatively connect the wheel to the frame, and provide extension and retraction of the axle along a longitudinal axis of the axle. A cylindrical tunnel passing through the first element limits the extent to which the second axle element can be inserted into the first axle element. An inner end of the second axle element is contoured to extend at least partly under the cylindrical tunnel in the second axle element when the second axle element is inserted at a maximum allowed depth into the first axle element.

A vehicle includes an axle having driven wheels each with an associated wheel-speed sensor and the vehicle includes a yaw rate sensor. A controller is programmed to, responsive to a request to reprogram a track width of the driven axle, receive signals from the wheel speed sensors and the yaw rate sensor to learn a track width of the driven axle based on the signals.

MOUNTING ASSEMBLY FOR A STEERABLE WHEEL WITH VARIABLE TRACK WIDTH
20200163269 · 2020-05-28 ·

A wheel-mounting assembly for a utility vehicle includes a chassis and a wheel support assembly mounted to respective outboard ends of first and second telescopic axle assemblies. The first and second telescopic axle assemblies are laterally spaced from one another and are each secured to the chassis. The first and second telescopic axle assemblies each include a respective actuator arranged to control extension and retraction thereof for steering and track-width control.

Foldable vehicle, system and adjustment assembly thereof for adjusting width of a vehicle

Some embodiments are directed to an adjustment assembly for changing width of a vehicle including at least one pair of wheels, where the adjustment assembly is embedded in the vehicle and is connectable to a pair of front, middle or rear wheels thereof. The adjustment assembly includes, inter alia: a foldable unit connectable to the pair of wheels of the vehicle, configured for changing its overall length over a predefined axis Y connecting the centers of the pair of wheels, for adjusting a distance between the pair of wheels it connects to; and a tilting unit operatively associated with the pair of wheels of the vehicle to which the foldable unit connects. The tilting unit is configured for changing angular positioning of the pair of wheels in respect to the Y axis, during driving of the vehicle when folded or unfolded.

Vehicle wheel positioning and steering apparatus

A vehicle wheel positioning and steering apparatus particularly useful for aerial work platforms comprises a support chassis and chassis support legs pivotally connected to the chassis. Steerable wheel assemblies are operably connected at ends of the support legs and powered actuators are operably connected to the chassis and legs for pivotally moving the legs and wheel assemblies relative to the chassis between transport and working positions. Variable length linear wheel steering actuators comprise one link of four bar parallelogram steering linkages between the chassis and wheel assemblies and the support legs each comprise second bars of the four bar parallelogram steering linkages.

Adjustable vehicle axle

A pair of wheels coupled together by an adjustable axle mechanism. A right straight-line linkage coupled to a right wheel and a left straight-line linkage coupled to a left wheel. The right straight-line linkage and the left straight-line linkage are connected together and each move independently from each other between an extended position and a retracted position.
