Wheel bearing apparatus and its manufacturing method
A wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member, an inner member and double row rolling elements freely rollably contained between double row inner raceway surfaces and outer raceway surfaces of the inner member and the outer member. A plurality of bolt insertion bores, that fastening bolts pass through to fasten to the knuckle, are formed on the body mounting flange at plurality of positions circumferentially along the body mounting flange. The outer member is previously formed by hot forging. A seating surface for the fastening bolts is formed on an outboard-side surface of the body mounting flange by cold forging.
Wheel Hub Assembly for a Vehicle Wheel and Pole Ring of an ABS Sensor
In order to provide solutions for soiling problems and corrosion problems in the area between a pole ring (41) and the hub interior, arranged behind it, of a wheel hub assembly having a wheel hub (1) which ends inside the vehicle in a hub section (50) whose internal circumference (15) defines an opening (55) for the central passage of the stub axle (6) and on which a fastening device (42) of a pole ring (41) of an ABS sensor is mounted, wherein a pulse generator section (43) which is embodied in one piece with the fastening section (42) is a component of the pole ring (41), which pulse generator section (43) extends from the fastening section (42) to the wheel hub axis (A) and is provided with openings (44, 44L) distributed uniformly in the circumferential direction; in a first embodiment the pole ring (41) extends with its pulse generator section (43) towards the wheel hub axis (A) to such an extent that the opening (55) between the wheel hub (1) and stub axle (6) is for the most part covered towards the interior of the hub. In a second embodiment, at least some of the openings or slots have an extent (RL) towards the outside which is greater than the extent (R) which is necessary for sensing. Furthermore, it is proposed with respect to the pole ring (41) that some of the openings (44L) or slots have an extent (RL) towards the outside which is greater than the extent (R) of other openings (44) or slots.
DRIVE WHEEL BEARING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Disclosed are a drive wheel bearing and a method of manufacturing the same. The drive wheel bearing includes: a wheel hub which is integrally and rotatably fastened to a vehicle wheel; an inner race which is fitted with the wheel hub and integrally and rotatably coupled to the wheel hub; an outer race which rotatably supports the wheel hub and the inner race in a state in which the wheel hub and the inner race are fitted into the outer race; rolling elements which are interposed between the outer race and the wheel hub and between the outer race and the inner race; and a constant velocity joint which is integrally and rotatably connected to the wheel hub or the inner race by means of a face spline in order to receive power from an engine and transmit the received power to the vehicle wheel, in which the face spline of each of the wheel hub and the constant velocity joint have a structure in which teeth having the same size and tooth grooves having the same size radially extend, and are alternately and continuously arranged in a circumferential direction, and as a result, it is possible to smoothly transmit rotational power of the engine to the vehicle wheel through the wheel bearing.
Vehicle wheel having adjustable insert neck and method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a vehicle wheel includes: a casting process of manufacturing the wheel in a one-piece body having a forming end and a temporary flange protruding at inner and outer sides of the wheel, respectively, wherein the one-piece body further includes a resonance chamber forming groove; a primary shape machining process of forming a stepped part at an outer circumferential side of the resonance chamber forming groove; a flow forming process of bending the forming end to be seated on the stepped part; a friction stir welding process of integrally bonding a portion where the forming end and the stepped part are in close contact with each other; a fine machining process of removing the temporary flange; and a sound-absorbing hole machining process of forming a sound-absorbing hole for communicating between the resonance chamber and an interior space of a tire in the forming end.
Trumpet arm with internal buttresses
Described herein is a trumpet arm for use in an electric drive axle. In one embodiment, the trumpet arm comprises a housing with an arm section extending an arm length, the arm section having an outlet at a first end, and a flange with a planar face at a second end opposite the first end.
