The present invention is in the field of antioxidants and relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, compositions or homecare product comprising or consisting of a synergistic combination of a specific antioxidant and an effective amount of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols and the use of said compositions as a cosmetic, for personal care, as a pharmaceutical or homecare product, in particular for scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), for inhibition matrix metalloproteinases expression and/or for inhibiting interleukin 8 (IL-8) secretion. Additionally, the present invention relates to the use of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols for enhancing the antioxidative effect of an antioxidant in a cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, composition or homecare product, and/or for enhancing the antioxidative effect of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, composition upon application.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical, preferably dermatological, composition comprising or consisting of a liquid lipophilic component and an effective amount of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols and the use of said compositions as a cosmetic, for personal care, as a pharmaceutical or for animal care. Additionally, the present invention relates to the use of 1,2-heptanediol and/or 2,3-heptanediol or of a specific alkanediol or of a mixture of two or more different specific alkanediols for improving the sensor), properties, i.e. skin sensation, of a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition upon topical application, or as silicone replacer.

The presently claimed invention is directed to 2,2,6-trimethyl-4,5-dihydro-3H-oxepine and its use to impart an aroma impression to a composition. The presently claimed invention also relates to a method of imparting such an aroma impression. Digital imaging systems and methods are described for determining a user-specific skin redness value of a user's skin after removing hair. An example method may be performed by one or more processors and may include aggregating training images comprising pixel data of skin of individuals after removing hair. A skin redness model may be trained using the training images to output skin redness values associated with a degree of skin redness from least to most red. The method may include receiving an image of a user including pixel data of the user's skin after hair is removed from the skin, analyzing the image using the skin redness model to determine a user-specific skin redness value, generating a user-specific recommendation designed to address a feature identifiable within the pixel data of the user's skin, and rendering the recommendation on a display screen of a user computing device.
