Vehicle spindle and a method of attaching the spindle to a portion of an axle housing
A vehicle spindle and a method of attaching the spindle to a portion of an axle half shaft housing. The spindle has an inner surface, an outer surface, one or more bearing journals on the outer surface of the spindle and a radially protruding portion circumferentially extending from at least a portion of the outer surface of an axially inboard end portion of the spindle. Prior to attaching the spindle to the axle half shaft housing, the one or more bearing journals are ground, a clocking angle for the radially protruding portion of the spindle is determined and the spindle is aligned to the determined clocking angle. Once the spindle is aligned to the determined clocking angle, the axially inboard end portion of the spindle is attached to an axially outboard end portion of the axle half shaft housing using one or more welds.
VEHICLE WHEEL AND USE
A vehicle wheel may include a rim for receiving a tire and a wheel disk attached to the rim in a cohesive connection, in a force-fitting connection, and/or a form-fitting connection, with an attachment region for releasably attaching to a wheel mount. The wheel disk may be formed of a steel workpiece that is heat-treated at least in certain regions. To provide a utility vehicle wheel vehicle wheel having high operational strength and reliability relative to the prior art, the wheel disk may have at least in a transition region for attaching to the rim a heat-treated structure with at least one of a tensile strength of between 500 and 1300 MPa or a hardness of between 150 and 400 HV 0.1.
Process and device for producing hot-formed wheel naves
A method for producing a wheel disk of a vehicle wheel may involve producing the wheel disk produced from a steel blank by hot forming. The blank may be at least partially hardened, preferably press-hardened, during or after the hot forming. The blank may be hot formed using at least one punch and at least one die, and at least one opening may be introduced into the blank using hot trimming means. At least one opening may be introduced during the hot trimming using at least one trimming bolt and an application bolt, wherein the application bolt may have at least one region having a cross-sectional shape that is variable in a longitudinal direction of the application bolt. Using the application bolt, the at least one opening may be calibrated via the variable cross sectional shape.
VEHICLE WHEEL INCLUDING ANTIROTATION PLATE
A vehicle wheel includes a first annular component, a second annular component configured to be separable from the first annular component and mechanically connected to and aligned with the first annular component about an axis of rotation of the wheel, and a plate. In some examples, when the first and second annular components are mechanically connected, the first and second annular components are configured to receive a tire and define a recess along an annular surface of the first and second annular components, the recess being configured to receive the plate. In addition, in some examples, when the plate is received in the recess, the plate inhibits relative rotation between the first annular component and the second annular component about the axis of rotation of the wheel.
Solid Wheel for a Rail Vehicle and Method for Producing the Wheel
A solid wheel for a rail vehicle includes a wheel rim arranged on the circumference of the solid wheel, a tread and a hub for a wheelset shaft, wherein the wheel rim is connected to the hub via an end wall and a rear wall, where the hub is arranged at the center of the solid wheel and includes a longitudinal axis such that a high radial and axial strength of the wheel flange as the basis for a low sound emission is provided by virtue of the solid wheel forming a cavity that is delimited by the end wall and the rear wall, where the end wall and the rear wall transition into each other below the wheel flange in an arched manner, and the end wall has first openings and the rear wall has second openings in order to open the cavity outwards in a spoked manner.
