WATER-SOLUBLE AND/OR WATER-SWELLABLE HYBRID POLYMER
A water-soluble and/or water-swellable hybrid polymer comprising: (i) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% water-soluble and/or water-swellable polysaccharide polymer; (ii) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% synthetic polymer comprising: (a) from 90 mol-% to 99.9 mol-%, preferably 95 mol-% to 99.5 mol-% of repeating units according to Formula (1)
##STR00001## (b) from 0.01 mol-% to 10 mol-%, preferably to 5 mol-%, more preferably to 3 mol-% of crosslinking or branching units, wherein the crosslinking or branching units result from the incorporation of a monomer comprising at least two olefinically unsaturated double bonds;
characterised in that the components (i) and (ii) are polymerised by radical precipitation polymerisation in a polar solvent.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS OF CARNOSOL FOR INHIBITING UVB-INDUCED SKIN DAMAGE
Compositions and methods for inhibition UVB-irradiation damage by administering an effective amount of carnosol are described.
Active mixure
Suggested is an active mixture, comprising or consisting of: (a) at least one biopolymer; (b) at least one glycosaminoglycan; (c) at least one disaccharide; and optionally (d) at least one active selected from the group consisting of phenols and/or polyphenols.
Topical formulations comprising strontium and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and methods of treatment
A topical cosmetic or medicinal formulation comprising strontium and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) reduces irritation that may be caused by skin treatment compositions, especially low-pH skin treatments. strontium and methylsulfonylmethane may be provided with a dermatologically acceptable carrier as a separate composition, or may be provided with other active ingredients in a skin treatment formulation.
MAGNOLIA EXTRACT CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed is a method of treating skin with a composition comprising an extract from Magnolia officinalis.
TOPICAL USE AND DELIVERY OF AMMONIA OXIDIZING MICROORGANISMS
A method of preventing progression of an appearance or effect of aging in a subject is provided. A method of preventing, limiting, or inhibiting injury to skin integrity in a subject is also provided. A method of substantially maintaining a state of skin integrity in a subject is further provided. A method of preventing a topographical change of a cutaneous layer of skin in a subject is still further provided. The methods comprise administering an effective amount of a preparation comprising ammonia oxidizing microorganisms to the subject. Related preparations and kits are also provided.
PEPTIDE CONJUGATES
Methods and compositions related to the selective, specific disruption of multiple ligand-receptor signaling interactions, such as ligand-receptor interactions implicated in disease, are disclosed. These interactions may involve multiple cytokines in a single receptor family or multiple ligand receptor interactions from at least two distinct ligand-receptor families. The compositions may comprise polypeptides having composite sequences that comprise sequence fragments of two or more ligand binding sites. The methods and compositions may involve sequence fragments of two or more ligand binding sites that are arranged to conserve the secondary structure of each of the ligands from which the sequence fragments were taken.
HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT BLOCK COPOLYMERS COMPRISING REPEATING UNITS DERIVED FROM MONOMERS COMPRISING LACTAM AND ACRYLOYL MOIETIES AND HYDROPHILIC MONOMERS, COMPOSITIONS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
This application provides high molecular weight block copolymers comprising at least one block A comprising repeating units derived from monomers comprising lactam and acryloyl moieties and at least one block B comprising repeating units derived from hydrophilic monomers. The application further provides compositions comprising the block copolymers and applications thereof in various industrial areas including personal care. The application furthermore provides compositions comprising colloidal particles of the block copolymers. The variables x, y, R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 are described herein (I). Wherein each x and y is independently an integer having a value from about 10 to about 10000, and each R.sub.8, and R.sub.9 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, methyl, and combinations thereof.

WHIPPED FORMULATIONS WITH DESIRED SENSORY IMPACT
The present disclosure relates to, inter alia, a method of making a whipped formulation and the formulation. The method comprises: selecting an amount of a gas propellant co-mingled with one or more active agents. The gas propellant is dispersed in the formulation, and the formulation is filled under pressure into a package, which may be pressurized. The package has a selected amount of pressure (pre-gas or cut-bag pressure). The pressure maintains the gas propellant dispersed in the formulation and the pressurized package is under sufficient pressure such that the formulation may be expelled as a whipped formulation upon application of external force on said formulation in said package. The whipped formulation is characterized by providing a desired sensory impact to a user.
