Provided are a cosmetic composition for inhibiting sebum hypersecretion and a method of inhibiting sebum hypersecretion using the same. According to the present invention, there may be provided the cosmetic composition of inhibiting and adjusting sebum secretion which is harmless to the human body with excellent skin safety and decreases activity of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ) to fundamentally decrease sebum overproduction, thereby providing the skin with an effective effect, and a method of using the same.
BIO-BASED AND BIODEGRADABLE ELASTOMER FOR COSMETIC AND PERSONAL CARE
A polyurethane elastomeric rubber composition containing a bio-based polyol cross-linked with a bio-based isocyanate using a urethanation catalyst such as a bismuth catalyst in the presence of a cosmetic emollient is disclosed. The cross-linked polyurethane elastomer rubber is in further aspect of the invention included in a gel after being milled in the presence of a bio-based emollient or mixture of bio-based emollients. The polyurethane elastomeric gel has good compatibility with cosmetic and natural oils and can be used as a gelling agent for these oils among other desirable cosmetic formulary roles.

Disclosed is a powder composition consisting essentially of Magnolia officinalis bark extract comprising magnolol and honokiol, tocopherol or tocopherol acetate, lecithin, at least one gum, and optionally water, wherein the composition is in powdered form.

The present invention relates to a composition, comprising (a) at least one modified starch, (b) at least one C.sub.13-C.sub.15 fatty acid, and (c) at least one clay. The amount of each of the ingredients (a) to (c) may be within a specific weight range. The composition according to the present invention is stable, and can be rinsed off from the skin and can leave an enhanced deposition of clay on the skin after rinsing off the composition from the skin.

Topical cosmetic treatment of skin and scalp and corresponding active ingredient based on an extract of <i>Apium graveolens</i>
The invention provides the use of at least one alkyl-phthalide or a plant extract comprising mainly said alkyl-phthalide for the topical cosmetic treatment of the skin and of the scalp, in particular an anti-dandruff treatment. According to the invention, a CO.sub.2 supercritical extract of Apium graveolens seeds consisting mainly of sedanenolide may be used.
