Wheel with flexible wide-body spokes
A wheel with flexible spokes, including a rim and hub, and spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The spokes are also flexible and resilient such that they can bend while retaining their integrity and strength.
BICYCLE RIM WITH ENLARGED OUTER RADIAL EDGES
A bicycle rim for carrying a tire. The rim includes a circumferential tire bed including first and second opposing edge regions a circumferential spoke face, and first and second side walls extending from the spoke face to the first and second edge regions, respectively. The first and second side walls include first and second side wall extensions radially extending from the first and second opposing side regions and terminating at first and second outer radial edges, respectively. Each of the first and second outer radial edges defining a maximum width that is at least 3.8 mm. The thickness of the first and second side wall extensions varies with respect to a central radial axis. The thickness of the first and second side wall extensions is greater at the first and second outer radial edges than at a location radially spaced from the first and second outer radial edges and adjacent to the first and second opposing end regions, respectively.
Vehicle wheel assembly
A vehicle wheel assembly includes a wheel. A tire is disposed around the wheel. A wheel cap is coupled to the wheel and includes a polymeric base. A substantially transparent cap is positioned on the base which defines a first surface and a second surface. The second surface integrally defines an optical grating.
Track widening system for motor vehicles
A track widening system for motor vehicles, having at least one track widening disc and at least one centering ring which is inserted into a central opening of the track widening disc. The centering ring has at least one first catch device which is arranged at the free end of a resilient arm and the track widening disc has a corresponding second catch. The centering ring may include plastic, and may be fiber-reinforced. One or more centering rings may have different colors. One or more protrusions may extend from a hub centering position of a centering ring.
Two-shot molding for selectively metalizing parts
A method of making a work piece without the use of an auxiliary anode and a work piece created using the method are provided. The work piece includes a main face being generally planar. The work piece also includes a first area comprising a plateable resin configured to be plated using the plating process without the auxiliary anode and having a first current density during the plating process. Additionally, the work piece includes a second area comprising a non-plateable resin configured to not be plated using the plating process without the auxiliary anode. The first area and the second area are determined by a process referencing a predetermined minimum current density value with the first current density being greater than the predetermined minimum current density value.
WHEEL ASSEMBLIES FOR MODEL VEHICLES
A wheel assembly for a model vehicle is provided. The wheel assembly may include a wheel base configured for mounting an R/C vehicle tire and a colored trim piece provided on a facing surface of the wheel base. In addition, the wheel assembly may include a wheel face configured to allow portions of the colored trim piece to be visible when the wheel face is attached to the wheel base. The wheel assembly may also include a hub cap assembly that comprises a hub cap and a retainer. Wherein the hub cap assembly is removably secured against the wheel base via the retainer.
Wheel
A wheel includes a main hub portion having outer and inner portions, the inner portion being spaced from the outer portion by a main hub sidewall; a ring portion configured to engage the main hub portion so as to enclose the outer portion and the inner portion and create an enclosed void; and an exterior covering surrounding at least part of the main hub portion and the ring portion at the enclosed void. A method of forming a wheel includes forming a main hub portion having an outer portion and an inner portion; forming a ring portion configured to engage the main hub portion so as to enclose the outer portion and the inner portion and create an enclosed void; assembling the main hub portion and the ring portion into an assembled hub; and overmolding an exterior covering surrounding at least part of the main hub and ring portions.
Automotive wheel overlay attachment system
A vehicle wheel overlay attachment system disclosed herein provides for wheel overlays, or wheel skins, that are readily installable over existing wheels by securing directly to a wheel center cap. The center cap is adapted to be inserted into the center hub portion of the wheel, much like a traditional center cap, but also contains a system for securing a wheel overlay to the center cap. When properly installed on the center cap, the wheel overlay will be snugly positioned over the wheel thereby changing the appearance of the vehicle wheel.
Reinforced composite vehicle wheel and method of construction thereof
A composite wheel assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The composite wheel assembly includes a wheel having an inwardly facing surface, an outwardly facing surface, a generally cylindrical barrel portion, and a plurality of apertures formed about a central hub aperture. At least one wheel cladding is fixedly bonded to at least one of the inwardly facing surface, the outwardly facing surface, and the generally cylindrical barrel portion. The wheel cladding increases the stiffness and/or strength of the wheel between about 2-16% or greater as compared to the wheel not having the at least one cladding.
