The present invention relates to a composition for skin whitening comprising a dihydro-5-methylfuran-2(3H)-one derivative, an isomer thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof having melanogenesis inhibitory activity and melanosome degradation activity. Specifically, the composition of the present invention inhibits melanogenesis and promotes melanosome degradation by means of the action of a dihydro-5-methylfuran-2(3H)-one derivative in a signaling pathway of melanin biosynthesis induced by α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH).

The present invention relates to a composition comprising: (a) at least one cinnamic acid derivative according to a specific chemical formula; (b) at least one lipophilic antioxidant; (c) at least one oil; and (d) water, wherein the pH of the composition is 4.5 or less. The composition according to the present invention is stable under a variety of temperature conditions.

A composition containing black ginger extract including black ginger extract, and cyclodextrin. The composition containing black ginger extract includes certain 6 polymethoxyflavones (6PMF). When a total amount of 6PMF in the composition containing black ginger extract is determined as 100 parts by mass, an amount of 5-hydroxy-7-methoxyflavone in the composition containing black ginger extract is 5 parts by mass or less. When absorbance of an aqueous solution of the composition containing black ginger extract, in which a total amount of the 6 polymethoxyflavones is adjusted to a certain amount, is measured, the absorbance of the aqueous solution satisfies P1/V1≥1.45.

Solid cleansing compositions and methods for the same are disclosed herein. The solid cleansing composition may include a cleansing component and one or more whitening agents. The one or more whitening agents may include one or more of a metal oxide, a clay, a coloring agent, or combinations thereof. The solid cleansing composition may have a whiteness, as measured via a Hunter Whiteness Index (L) of from about 60 to about 90.
