Disk wheel
In a disk wheel, a metal insert member is embedded in a resinous bolt-fastening part having a bolt hole. The insert member includes: an opposing surface which is opposed to a resin member of the bolt-fastening part; a bonding area a bonded to the resin member within the opposing surface; and a non-bonding area within the opposing surface. The non-bonding area is not bonded to the resin member, but extends from the bonding area so as to receive a load generated when the resin member deforms. It is thereby possible to provide a technique to effectively suppress the influence of residual stress remained after molding of the resin member of the bolt-fastening part, and to ensure the strength required for the bolt-fastening part.
Variable-Wall Light-Weight Axle Shaft With An Integral Flange Member and Method for Making The Same
A drive axle shaft and method for making the same are provided. The drive axle shaft includes an elongate tubular body and a wheel flange. The elongate tubular body has a longitudinal axis and comprises a first end portion and a second end. The second end is configured to be coupled to a side gear in a differential. The wheel flange is disposed at the first end portion and is configured to support a vehicle wheel. The elongate tubular body and the wheel flange are formed as a unitary body without any weld therebetween.
Wheel with high strength flexible spokes
A wheel with high strength flexible spokes of the present invention, including a rim and hub, and spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The spokes are also flexible and resilient such that they can bend while retaining their integrity and strength. The wheel includes a nipple within the rim that receives the high strength spoke and allows for flexibility in adapting the spoke to wheels having differing shapes and sizes.
Wheel carrier
A wheel carrier mounted on a rear axle body of a vehicle, which wheel carrier comprises a supporting plate and a bearing plate. The supporting plate coincides with a virtual king-pin axis and the properties of the supporting plate are such that the supporting plate may bend around the virtual king-pin axis in the area of a flexible supporting section. The bearing plate comprises a section with such properties that the section is allowed to deflect in a lateral direction of the vehicle. When a lateral force F.sub.lateral and a brake force F.sub.brake are applied to the wheel carrier, e.g. during cornering and braking, the properties of the supporting plate and the bearing plate create lateral force under steer and brake force under steer.
WHEEL RIM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A wheel rim includes a rim body, two firm tracks, and a plurality of hollow anti-thermal unit. The two firm tracks were mounted on two sides of the rim body, and these hollow anti-thermal units are spread in two firm tracks. The hollow anti-thermal unit can reduce transfer rate of the thermal when braking a car.
Wheel hub with centering device
A wheel hub (1) having a radially extending wheel flange (17) which has fastening holes (3), having a cylindrical projection which extends from the wheel flange (17) axially on the vehicle side and which serves for at least partially receiving a rolling bearing, and having a centering device which is mounted axially on the wheel side. A high rigidity of the wheel hub (1) and/or of the wheel bearing unit is realized with little material usage. One possibility arises by the centering device of a wheel hub being regarded as the product of the compromise between rigidity and possible material removal. In this regard, a particular arrangement of the webs that form the centering device is provided which leads to a particularly advantageous solution, specifically by virtue of the webs (7) being oriented in the same radial direction (A, B) as the fastening holes (3) of the wheel flange (17).
BICYCLE WHEEL HUB WITH MOLDED SPOKE HOLES
A hub for a bicycle wheel includes a hub shell that defines one or more spoke holes. The hub shell includes a fiber reinforced material. The fiber reinforced material has one or more reinforcement fibers bending around the spoke holes to remain continuous around the spoke holes. One or more flanges with the spoke holes extend from the hub shell at an outer radial direction. A clutch or freehub adapter is coupled to the hub shell. Depending on the type of clutch mechanism used in the freehub, different clutch adapters can be incorporated into the hub.
Variable-wall light-weight axle shaft with an integral flange member and method for making the same
A drive axle shaft and method for making the same are provided. A tubular blank is inserted in a first die including an orifice. The tubular blank is extruded through the orifice to form an elongate tubular body with a longitudinal axis. A first longitudinal end of the tubular body is heated. The tubular body is inserted into a bore in a support apparatus. The support apparatus defines a second die at one end surrounding the bore, and the first longitudinal end of the tubular body projects outwardly from the bore. A third die comprises a mandrel configured to be received within the tubular body. A wheel flange is formed by moving at least one of the support apparatus and the third die toward the other of the support apparatus and the third die to deform the first longitudinal end of the tubular body between the second and third dies.
Hollow twin-wheel caster structure of luggage
A hollow twin-wheel caster structure of a luggage includes a wheel seat for coupling to the bottom of the luggage, the wheel seat having a horizontal inner annular hole; a hollow shaft unit inserted in the inner annular hole, two ends of the hollow shaft unit extending out of two sides of the inner annular hole to form a pair of coupling portions, the center of the hollow shaft unit being formed with a hollow portion communicating with the two ends of the hollow shaft unit; two plastic wheels fitted on the coupling portions; at least one bearing fitted on the hollow shaft unit; and a support member plugged into the hollow portion of the hollow shaft unit, the support member leaning against an inner wall of the hollow portion to prevent the hollow shaft unit from being compressed and deformed.
Portal Axle for a Rail Vehicle and Method for Manufacturing a Portal Axle of This Type
A portal axle as well as a method for manufacturing a portal axle for a rail vehicle, which has an axle centre part extending along a longitudinal axis and two kingpins one of which sits on a first end section of the axle centre part and a second on a second end section of the axle centre part formed opposite to the first end section. The kingpins are oriented away from the axle centre part and form an axis of rotation in use for a rail wheel rotatably mounted on the respective kingpin. The portal axle has optimised usage properties with minimised weight. This is achieved by a longitudinal opening extending in the longitudinal direction of the portal axle being formed in at least one of the mould components. The invention further provides a method for manufacturing an axle of this type.
