Wheel for a vehicle
A wheel of a vehicle has a rim, a hub portion and at least two spokes connecting the hub portion to the rim. At least one spoke intermediate space between the spokes is at least partially covered by a single-piece cover element. A wing portion of the cover element is deformed axially away from the wheel when heat is supplied. The cover element is connected directly to the wheel, and the single-piece cover element is formed from a single material.
SPINDLE REPAIR APPARATUS AND METHOD
The apparatus is for use with a mechanism of the type which, when manufactured, has an axle tube terminating in a brake mount, a spindle extending from the brake mount, a spider plate mounted to the brake mount in surrounding relation to the spindle, a hub mounted to the spindle and a wheel mounted to the hub. The apparatus is adapted to receive the hub in the manner of the spindle, adapted to be mounted to the brake mount and adapted to capture the spider plate against the brake mount.
Method for producing a motor vehicle rim made of aluminium or aluminium alloy for a wheel of a motor vehicle and a corresponding device for producing a motor vehicle rim
A method for producing an automobile rim from aluminum or an aluminum alloy for a wheel of a motor vehicle. The automobile rim has a rim well delimited on opposite sides by an outer flange and an inner flange, a hub having a center recess and a bolt hole circle, and a rim center connecting the rim well and the hub to one another. The automobile rim is produced integrally and continuously in a casting mold by die casting of a casting material. After the introduction of the casting material into the casting mold, a volume of the casting mold is reduced for post-compaction of the casting material. The invention furthermore relates to a device for producing an automobile rim.
Vehicle wheel having adjustable insert neck and method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a vehicle wheel includes: a casting process of manufacturing the wheel in a one-piece body having a forming end and a temporary flange protruding at inner and outer sides of the wheel, respectively, wherein the one-piece body further includes a resonance chamber forming groove; a primary shape machining process of forming a stepped part at an outer circumferential side of the resonance chamber forming groove; a flow forming process of bending the forming end to be seated on the stepped part; a friction stir welding process of integrally bonding a portion where the forming end and the stepped part are in close contact with each other; a fine machining process of removing the temporary flange; and a sound-absorbing hole machining process of forming a sound-absorbing hole for communicating between the resonance chamber and an interior space of a tire in the forming end.
Wheel sensor
A wheel loosening sensor configured to detect loosening of a wheel of a vehicle, the wheel loosening sensor including: a water tight housing that is permanently sealed, wherein at least two electrical terminals are exposed at an exterior of the water tight housing. Within the water tight housing, there is a transmitter and a battery, the transmitter being configured to receive electrical power from the battery and to transmit a signal when the at least two electrical terminals are disconnected. The water tight housing including an electrically conductive element biased away from the at least two electrical terminals and configured to electrically connect the two electrical terminals when the bias is overcome.
Axle assembly with outboard axle bearings
An axle assembly having an axle housing, an axle shaft, a plurality of axle shaft bearings and a seal. The axle housing has a tubular member and an end flange that is coupled to the tubular member. The axle shaft bearings and the seal are received in the end flange and are engaged to the axle shaft. The axle shaft bearings support the axle shaft for rotation relative to the axle housing. The seal is sealingly engaged to the end flange and the axle shaft. A method for assembling an axle assembly is also provided.
Vehicle wheel
A vehicle wheel is provided which includes a sub air chamber member capable of suppressing a surface deformation amount in case of an action of an internal pressure of the sub air chamber member. A sub air chamber member of a vehicle wheel includes an upper surface member, a lower surface member, and bridge sections causing the upper surface member and the lower surface member to strike on each other. An end-to-end distance of an opening part of a bridge section opening on an upper surface of the upper surface member is set longer than a distance to an end portion of an opening part of another bridge section adjacent thereto. Moreover, the area of the opening parts of the bridge sections opening on the upper surface of the upper surface member is larger than the area of other general parts.
Trochoid, Polar or Conic Section Spoke for Wheels
The invention is for a single spoke for an entire wheel that connects the hub to the rim in the shape of a trochoid graph, polar graph, or series of connected conic sections. It is impossible to determine where the spoke begins or terminates as it's one continuous piece of material.
Aerodynamic wheel covers and mounting assemblies
Aerodynamic wheel covers may include a hub assembly coupled with a hub of a large vehicle, such as a truck. A base assembly may be coupled to the hub assembly, and a disk assembly may be coupled with the base assembly such that removal and installation of the disk assembly may be accomplished without tools.
