Elastic wheel for a rail vehicle

A wheel for a rail vehicle has a wheel tire (1) with a ridge (9) formed on the inner circumference of the wheel tire (1), a wheel body (3) with a ring flange (11) formed on the outer circumference and running radially outward, and a clamp ring (5) attached to the wheel body (3) via a fastening means (13), on a side face opposite the ring flange (11). Damping means formed as at least two separate circular ring segments (7) extend between the clamp ring (5) and the circumferential ridge and between the circumferential ridge (9) of the wheel tire (1) and the ring flange in the circumferential direction of the wheel. On at least one side, the circular ring segments (7) have at least two centering cams (19) meshing into corresponding recesses (21). The circular segments (7) have an elastomer core enclosed by metal sheet segments (17).

UNIVERSAL TRANSFER CASE FOR RIGHT SIDE OR LEFT SIDE INSTALLATION
20240294066 · 2024-09-05 ·

A universal transfer case for a vehicle having a casing with a primary drive axis and a secondary drive axis spaced apart and parallel to the primary axis. The casing includes a connector configured to permit coupling to a vehicle in a manner locating the secondary drive axis in one of a plurality of orientations in relation to the primary drive axis thereby allowing the transfer case to be used with front axle drives offset to the right or left of the primary powertrain axis. Interface connection locations may be provided in the casing which when machined allow openings in and/or connections to the casing to be optimally positioned based on the installation orientation.

UNIVERSAL FRONT AXLE FOR RIGHT SIDE OR LEFT SIDE INSTALLATION

A modular axle assembly includes a differential casing with an input axis and a drive axis oriented at a right angle thereto, first and second casing connectors disposed on opposite sides of the differential casing and aligned on the drive axis, each connector including a shaft coupling. An axle extension selectively connectable to one of the casing connectors to extend along the drive axis toward a distal end is provided, a shaft coupling being provided at the distal end. The input axis location in relation to opposing ends of the modular axle may be selectively alterable by connecting the axle extender to the first casing connector or the second casing connector to best suit a specific vehicle installation.

SPOKED VEHICLE WHEEL
20180264877 · 2018-09-20 ·

A vehicle wheel, including a rim, a hub, and a plurality of spokes, a first anchor to connect one of the spokes to one of the rim and hub at a connection interface. One of the spokes is pre-tensioned by a pre-tensioning means. The first anchor may be manipulated between: (i) a released orientation where the connection interface is longitudinally released from the spoke to permit independent longitudinal displacement therebetween; and (ii) an engaged orientation where the connection interface is longitudinally connected to said spoke to limit independent longitudinal displacement between the two and to maintain the pre-tension of said spoke. The pre-tensioning means is discreet from the first anchor.

Apertured article, insertion article and associated systems

An apertured article, insertion article and associated systems. The apertured article having an aperture, which has an aperture periphery, the aperture periphery having an aperture inner periphery and spaced aperture protrusions that extend radially outwardly from the aperture inner periphery to an aperture outer periphery. The aperture outer periphery is defined by distal edges of the spaced aperture protrusions. The aperture inner periphery is positioned along the circumference of an inner aperture reference circle, the inner aperture reference circle inscribing the aperture periphery, and the aperture outer periphery is positioned along the circumference of an outer aperture reference circle. As viewed along a radial line whose origin is at the center of the inner aperture reference circle, the aperture inner periphery can be positioned along 0.4 to 0.6 of the entire circumference of the inner aperture reference circle. The insertion article can be configured for insertion in the apertured article.

Caster yoke for manufacture of a set of wheeled caster assemblies
10005319 · 2018-06-26 · ·

A caster yoke for use in the manufacture of a set of wheeled caster assemblies wherein each caster assembly of the set of caster assemblies is capable of having unique functional capabilities relative to each other caster assembly of the set arising from different combinations of caster components (selected from a set of pre-determined of caster components) being mountable on each respective caster yoke of the set of wheeled caster assemblies. To this end, the caster yoke is provided with all of the mounting features necessary to selectively mount all of the respective caster components of the pre-determined set on the caster yoke, such that the same form of caster yoke may be used without modification as a mounting frame to create a set of caster assemblies having different functionalities, significantly reducing design, production and inventory costs for the set of caster assemblies.

Transient heating burner and method

A transient heating burner including at least two burner elements each including a distribution nozzle configured to flow a first fluid and an annular nozzle surrounding the distribution nozzle and configured to flow a second fluid, the burner also including a controller programmed to independently control the flow of the first fluid to each distribution nozzle such that at least one of the distribution nozzles is active and at least one of the distribution nozzles is passive, wherein flow in an active distribution nozzle is greater than an average flow to the distribution nozzles and flow in a passive distribution nozzle is less than the average flow to the distribution nozzles, wherein the first fluid contains a reactant that is one of fuel and oxidant and the second fluid contains a reactant that is the other of fuel and oxidant.
