Hub unit
A hub unit includes: a bearing section including an outer ring, an inner ring disposed coaxially with and inside the outer ring, rolling elements disposed in a bearing inner space, and a sealing member sealing the bearing inner space at an end on a vehicle inner side; a hub ring including a body portion, and a wheel mounting flange portion on which a wheel is to be mounted; and a covering member protecting the bearing section from a foreign substance. The covering member is fixed to rotate integrally with the hub ring and the inner ring, and covers an end on the vehicle inner side of the bearing section. A part of the covering member opposing to an end surface on the vehicle inner side of the outer ring is not parallel to the end surface.
Axle sleeve
A method of making an axle sleeve includes forming a main body comprising a cylinder and forming an expansion member whereby a diameter of the main body may be varied. The method includes cutting an inner helical cutout comprising a first slit defined through the main body and extending helically from an inner edge of the main body, cutting an outer helical cutout comprising a second slit defined through the main body and extending helically from an outer edge of the main body, forming an inner edge remaining portion comprising an annular section of the main body unbroken by the inner helical cutout, and forming an outer edge remaining portion comprising an annular section of the main body unbroken by the outer helical cutout.
Heat shield retainer and method
A heat shield assembly is disclosed. In various embodiments, the heat shield assembly includes a first heat shield segment having a first end and a second end spaced from the first end, the first end including a first hook member and the second end including a second hook member; and a first heat shield retainer including a first clip member configured to engage the first hook member and a second clip member.
Dual plunging constant velocity drive shaft
A dual plunging constant velocity (CV) drive shaft is provided for communicating rotational forces from a transaxle to a drive wheel of a vehicle. The dual plunging CV drive shaft comprises a drive shaft that transfers torque from the transaxle to the drive wheel. An inboard plunging CV joint is coupled between the transaxle and the drive shaft, and an outboard plunging CV joint is coupled between the drive shaft and the drive wheel. The inboard and outboard plunging CV joints each comprises an elongate housing that receives a CV joint coupled with the drive shaft. The inboard and outboard plunging CV joints communicate rotational forces from the transaxle to the drive wheel during vertical pivoting of a trailing arm coupled with the outboard plunging CV joint. The elongate housings allow the drive shaft to “float” longitudinally, as needed, during extreme pivoting motion of the suspension.
METHOD OF MOUNTING A WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A COLLAPSIBLE WHEEL
A wheel assembly includes a collapsible wheel and an airless flexible tire mounted on the wheel. The wheel includes a central portion and a plurality of circumferentially spaced mounting elements attached to the central portion. Each of the mounting elements is movable between a retracted position and an extended position, and may be pivotally attached to the central portion of the wheel and configured to pivot between the retracted position and the extended position. The tire may be positioned on the wheel when one or more of the mounting elements is in the retracted position, and the one or more mounting elements are moved to the extended position wherein the mounting elements engage and support the tire.
HIGH TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT WHEEL
A high temperature-resistant wheel, comprising: an elastic hub assembly (1), which has a thermal insulation layer integrated therewith so as to insulate the elastic hub assembly (1) from exterior high temperatures; and a rigid wheel barbed ring (2), which has the elastic hub assembly (1) fastened inside and rotates together with the elastic hub assembly (1). A robot, which comprises the high temperature-resistant wheel.
EMERGENCY WHEEL
An attachment is provided for a vehicle wheel, having a rim and a tire arranged on the rim, for enabling a driving operation with a restricted tire function in an operating state in which the attachment is fastened on the vehicle wheel. The attachment may include a stationary section configured to be fastened immovably with respect to the rim in the operating state in which the attachment is fastened on the vehicle wheel, a tread section with a tread for contacting the road, and at least two clamping devices configured to engage behind a section of the rim to fasten the attachment on the vehicle wheel, wherein the tread includes at least one tread segment arranged movably in a circumferential direction with respect to the stationary section in the operating state in which the attachment is fastened on the vehicle wheel.
AIRCRAFT RECOVERY DOLLY
A wheel dolly for lifting and transporting a flat tire attached to an aircraft is comprised of a frame assembly having first and second laterally spaced frame members and a telescopic frame structure interposed between the laterally spaced frame members. A pair of tire lifting assemblies are fixedly coupled the frame assembly. A pair of actuators is coupled between the tire lifting assemblies to force the tire lifting assemblies toward one another in order to raise a flat tire on an aircraft. A plurality of wheels is coupled to the frame assembly to allow the frame assembly to roll in any direction.
Tire spoke with crack suppression feature
A tire that has a hub and a spoke is provided. The spoke extends from the hub in a radial direction of the tire. The spoke has a first face and a second face that are spaced from one another in a longitudinal direction of the tire. The spoke has a crack suppression feature that has a groove that extends into the first face. The groove extends in the radial direction.
Wheel spoke with thickened edges around heat dissipation holes and its processing device
A lightweight wheel spoke for an automobile increases the strength around the heat dissipation holes by thickening the material around the heat dissipation hole on the inner wall of the spoke. The thinning of the material between the heat dissipation holes, that is where there is no heat dissipation holes on the tapered barrel, enables the tapered barrel of the spoke to form a unique concave-convex structure on the inner wall or the outer wall, thereby enabling the entire spoke to be secured.
