Botanical antimicrobial composition
An antiseptic composition for use as a topical skin sanitizer or as a surface disinfectant includes Populus tremuloides Bark Extract and/or Ribes Nigum Fruit Extract in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 50 weight percent effective as a broad spectrum antiseptic and antimicrobial agent. The composition includes an aqueous medium and/or one or more oils. The amount of the aqueous medium is from 45 to about 95 weight percent. The amount of oils is from 0.03 to about 50 weight percent. The composition may also include up to about 1 weight percent of one or more soothing agents; up to about 5 weight percent of one or more thickeners; and up to about 38 weight percent of one or more emulsifiers. The composition does not contain alcohols, chlorinated compounds, iodine, or phenols.
Organic Compounds
Disclosed is a composition comprising at least one core-shell microcapsule in a suspending medium. The microcapsule comprises a core and a shell around said core. The shell comprises a hyperbranched polysaccharide selected from the group consisting of amylopectins, dextrins, hyperbranched starches, glycogen and phytoglycogen and mixtures thereof.
CLEAR CLEANSING COMPOSITION
A cleansing composition comprising a detersive surfactant; an aqueous carrier; from about 0.5% to about 30% by weight of the cleansing composition of discrete particles comprising anhydrous particles and an aqueous phase, and wherein said anhydrous particles comprise: one or more fatty amphiphile selected from the group consisting of fatty alcohol, fatty ester, fatty acid, fatty amide and mixtures thereof; of one or more secondary surfactants selected from the group consisting of anionic, nonionic, zwitterionic, cationic or mixtures thereof. Wherein the discrete particle of the cleansing composition has a size from about 500 microns to about 7000 microns, and wherein the cleansing composition has a % transmittance of about 75% or higher.
Exfoliating cosmetic composition including pieces of candied citrus fruit
The present invention relates to the use of citrus fruit pieces, obtained by controlled osmotic dehydration of said citrus fruit in a sugar syrup, for mechanically exfoliating dead cells from the epidermis of the skin of a person. Said citrus fruit pieces include the peel and/or epicarp of said citrus fruit and have a furocoumarin compound content of less than 50 ppm. The invention also relates to a cosmetic care method intended for skin exfoliation, said method including the steps to involve: applying, onto the skin of a person, citrus fruit pieces obtained by controlled osmotic dehydration of said citrus fruit in a sugar syrup, said citrus fruit pieces including the peel and/or epicarp of said citrus fruit and having a furocoumarin compound content of less than 50 ppm; massaging the skin that is covered by said pieces by rubbing the surface of the skin so as to mechanically exfoliate the dead cells located thereon; and rinsing or wiping the skin in order to remove the candied citrus fruit pieces and the exfoliated dead cells.
