HUB CAP ASSEMBLY WITH SIGHT GLASS

A hub cap assembly with a retaining device (100), and at least one housing portion (34) with an annular recess (98) in an inner surface with a sight glass (12) disposed in the annular recess and positioned axially between the retaining device and the housing portion. The hub cap assembly can be part of a wheel end assembly for use with a central tire inflation system (CTIS).

Caster Wheel

Disclosed are systems and methods for reducing friction on a brake arm of a caster wheel brake. A washer can be positioned between the brake arm and the support arm to reduce friction in this area. Lubricant can also be provided between the brake arm and the support arm, and also between the brake arm and the brake cam, to reduce the friction in these areas. The presently disclosed embodiments therefore allow less force to actuate the brake arm as compared to prior art caster wheels.

A power transmission device includes: an axle housing having a central hole where a drive shaft is penetrated; a wheel hub disposed in an outer portion of the axle housing via wheel bearings; a speed-reducer housing chamber provided in the wheel hub to cover an opening end portion of the axle housing; a gear speed reducer, formed inside the speed-reducer housing chamber, to decelerate a rotation of the drive shaft and transmit the rotation to the wheel hub; and a wet-type brake mechanism housed in a brake chamber formed between the axle housing and the wheel hub, and actuated such that braking is applied to a rotation of the wheel hub relative to the axle housing. Further, floating seals are disposed between a lubrication space and the speed-reducer housing chamber, and a circulation passage for oil that includes an oil filter is connected to the lubrication space.

A half shaft and hub bearing assembly includes a half shaft including a CV joint outer race and a stub axle extending from the CV joint outer race. The CV joint outer race includes a first axial face including an annular groove and the half shaft includes a first chamfered shoulder having a chamfer angle. A hub bearing includes a body having a bore therethrough that receives the stub axle. The body includes a second axial face opposing the first axial face of the CV joint outer race with a gap therebetween and a second chamfered shoulder engaging the first chamfered shoulder. The hub bearing includes a hub flange extending radially from the body. A seal ring is received in the annular groove in the first axial face of the CV joint outer race and the seal ring being disposed against the second axial face of the hub bearing.

Lubrication of a wheel support

This invention relates to the lubrication of a wheel support 10. The wheel support 10 comprises support 10 comprises a housing 12 that includes a base portion 14 defining a cavity 16 for receiving therein at least one gear 40, and lubricant for lubricating the gear 40. Opposing first and second arm members 18.1, 18.2 extend respectively from the base portion 14. A free end of each arm member 18.1, 18.2 includes a bearing receiving formation 20.1, 20.2 for receiving therein a bearing. The wheel support 10 further comprises internal lubricant feed means 22, defined in the housing 12, and that extends internally from the base portion 14 into at least one of the arm members 18.1 or 18.2 for feeding lubricant operatively received from a lubricant supply, internally, via the base portion 14, to the bearing receiving formation 20.1 or 20.2 associated with the at least one arm member 18.1 or 18.2.

BICYCLE REAR-WHEEL DRIVE MECHANISM

A bicycle rear-wheel drive mechanism comprises a fixed shaft, a hollow toothed disc shaft, a wheel shaft, a sprocket shaft, an end cap and pin posts, the hollow toothed disc shaft is composed of a shaft cylinder and a toothed disc arranged at one end of the shaft cylinder, the toothed disc is provided with an array of semi-circular slots located at the edge of the disc body; in this design, the structure is stronger, the torque transmitted is greater, and the driving ability is stronger; replacing the original ball bearings used in bicycles with standardized tapered roller bearings allows the mechanism to be adjusted to the optimal axial and radial positions after installation, while also improving sealing performance and durability.

Hub-integrated inflation system

A hub-integrated inflation system which functions to convert relative motion at the wheel end (e.g., between the axle and the hub or wheel) into a pumping motion. The relative motion is then converted into mechanical or electrical energy, which can be used to actuate a pump of an inflator.

A wheel bearing assembly for a motor vehicle includes a housing having an interior, at least one bearing in the interior including a first bearing ring and a second bearing ring rotatably disposed relative to the first bearing ring, a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the first bearing ring and the second bearing ring, a lubricant in the housing interior in contact with at least a part of the at least one bearing, an axle connected to the at least one bearing, a sensor in the housing interior in contact with the lubricant, the sensor being configured to sense at least one property of the lubricant and to output a signal indicative of the at least one property of the lubricant, and a display unit outside the housing interior and in communication with the sensor, the display unit being configured to produce an output based on the signal.

HUB FOR HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE

A hub for a heavy-duty vehicle and for mounting a wheel for relative rotation comprises a substantially cylindrical body having axially opposite end portions and a longitudinal central axis. Each of a pair of bearing receiving bores is formed in the cylindrical body at a respective axially opposite end portion of the cylindrical body. A circumferential envelope has an outer diameter and is formed on the cylindrical body about one of the pair of bearing receiving bores. A flange extends radially outward from the cylindrical body at a location between the pair of bearing receiving bores. A barrel portion of the cylindrical body extends between the flange and the circumferential envelope and has an outer diameter. The hub provides sufficient strength and minimizes weight by incorporating specific longitudinal profiles and ratios and/or relationships of various dimensions of the barrel portion 104.
