A rubber-steel cord composite according to an embodiment is formed by vulcanizing and bonding a rubber composition containing 1 to 10 parts by mass of sulfur, 0.1 to 5 parts by mass of N,N-dibenzylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide, and 0.1 to 5 parts by mass of either one or both of hexamethylene bis-thiosulfate disodium salt dihydrate and 1,6-bis(N,N-dibenzylthiocarbamoyldithio)hexane, with respect to 100 parts by mass of diene rubber containing natural rubber, and a steel cord. A pneumatic tire according to an embodiment includes the rubber-steel cord composite.

The present invention provides a tire that uses an elastomer-metal cord composite, which composite is obtained by coating metal cords with an elastomer, each metal cord being composed of a bundle of metal filaments arranged without being twisted, and which composite is capable of highly improving the performance of the tire. The above described tire is one including a belt (105) which includes at least two belt layers (105a) and (105b). In this tire, the belt layers (105a) and (105b) are each obtained by coating metal cords (2) with an elastomer (3), each metal cord (2) being composed of a bundle of a plurality of metal filaments (1) arranged in a row without being twisted; at least one pair of adjacent metal filaments in the metal cord (2) differ in at least one of the amount of shaping and shaping pitch; each of the belt layers (105a) and (105b) has a thickness t1 of more than 0.30 mm and less than 1.00 mm; and the distance g in the tire radial direction between the metal cords (2) in the two adjacent belt layers (105a) and (105b) is 0.10 mm or more and 1.20 mm or less at the center of the tire.

A plurality of belt layers 7 are superimposed in a radial direction. The belt layers 7 include a plurality of steel cords 10 arranged in parallel in a row and rubber 11. The steel cords 10 have a 1×4 structure in which four filaments 20 are twisted, and when a center-to-center distance between the steel cords 10 in at least two of the belt layers 7 adjacent in the radial direction is T, and an average diameter of virtual circumscribed circles of the steel cords 10 having the 1×4 structure is D, 1.25≤T/D≤2.25.

A rubber composition contains a rubber component, an organic phosphoric acid compound having at least one alkyl chain, a vulcanizing agent, and a vulcanization accelerator. A content of a cobalt-containing compound is 0.00 parts by mass or more and less than 0.01 parts by mass as converted to a cobalt amount per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. A content of N,N-dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolylsulfenamide is 0.00 parts by mass or more and less than 0.08 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. The rubber composition can be used to produce a rubber-metal composite excellent in heat-resistant adhesion between a vulcanized rubber and a metal.

The present invention relates to a sulfur-crosslinkable rubberization mixture for metallic strength members containing at least one novolac resin comprising alkyl urethane units and produced by reaction of a phenolic compound, an aldehyde and a carbamate resin, wherein the carbamate resin is produced by reaction of alkyl urethane with an aldehyde, and at least one etherified melamine resin. The invention further relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire which comprises at least one such sulfur-crosslinked rubberization mixture. For improved durability of the rubberized strength members, the rubberization mixture contains at least one organic cobalt salt.

In accordance with the invention a wire coat rubber composition for a tire comprises from 70 phr to 100 phr of cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber, from 0 phr to 30 phr of solution styrene butadiene rubber, from 65 phr to 95 phr pre-silanized precipitated silica, from 0.1 phr to 5 phr of a cobalt salt, up to 15 phr carbon black, up to 10 phr of a resin, and up to 10 phr oil. The thicknesses E1, E2 and E3, being measured in millimetres in a shoulder region forming the transition between the crown and each sidewall of the tire, satisfy the following equations: 2≤E1≤4; 6≤E2+E3 and E1/E2≥0.6. In addition, the viscoelastic loss P60 of the elastomeric mixture M2 of the anti-creep layer (30) is at most equal to 20%.
