EMERGENCY ESCAPE SLIDE INCORPORATED INTO EXIT
20230191164 · 2023-06-22 ·

An emergency escape mechanism is disclosed. A deployable and inflatable slide is located proximate the exit door of a building. When the alarm switch on the alarm box next to the door is set to unlock the door may be opened and a chute or slide falls out to the exterior of the building. A mercury switch or the like is activated as the uninflated slide tilts out which activates an inflation means, preferably a compressed gas cylinder or the like. The slide or chute is anchored to the building by a girt bar anchored in the floor and a plurality of chute support straps. This allows for rapid evacuation of the building. Additionally, the alarm box switch may operate a silent alarm to alert the police of a potentially hazardous situation.

MARINE-ENVIRONMENT, EMERGENCY-EGRESS SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170327129 · 2017-11-16 ·

Emergency egress systems carry multiple riders simultaneously accessing a zip line (catenary) from higher, accessible, working locations to lower, safer areas in a marine environment. Hangers above the track line suspend trolleys to avoid weighting the catenary unduly at the high end, which might otherwise alter (reduce) clearance distances and safety of riders above a launch platform (deck). Catenary shape is controlled against approaching the launch deck by sequencing the release from the hangers of each trolley to roll along the catenary with its own rider. Track line systems installed may be left undeployed indefinitely. Deployment of a track line will typically be fully effected at the time of egress, adding time but eliminating permanent obstructions that would result if a permanent deployment of track lines were undertaken. Terminal ends are anchored and configured to accommodate workers arriving after escape.

System and method for prevention of inadvertent escape slide deployment for an aircraft

The invention relates to a system and a method for preventing inadvertent slide deployment for an aircraft, comprising at least one sensor for sensing the proximity of a person in front of an aircraft door, and at least one optical warning means operable to provide an optical indication in the vicinity of a slide arming lever when the sensor detects the proximity of a person in front of the aircraft door. The system according to the invention provides an effective prevention for inadvertent slide deployment that is capable to guide trained and untrained persons to the information they need in order to disarm the slide in sufficient time before the door handle is gripped and pulled to open the aircraft door in normal operation conditions.

EVACUATION RAMP
20170246483 · 2017-08-31 ·

An inflatable evacuation ramp for evacuating people from a building during an emergency situation may include an inflatable slide having a length at least long enough to extend from a window on a second floor of the building to the ground and a window attachment member coupled with one end of the slide, for attaching the slide to a window frame on the building. A method for evacuating a person from a building during an emergency situation may involve attaching one end of an inflatable slide to a window frame of the building, inflating the inflatable slide so that it extends from the window frame to ground near the building, and sliding the person down the slide to the ground.
