Pneumatic tire with rectangle-sheet-shaped carcass ply pieces
A pneumatic tire is provided with a carcass configured from at least one carcass ply. The carcass ply is formed by arranging, in the tire circumferential direction, rectangular sheet-shaped ply pieces, each having a radial direction length larger than a tire circumferential direction length. In each of the ply pieces, carcass cords are arranged parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction, and adjacent ply pieces at least partially overlap with each other in the tire circumferential direction, and in each of the ply pieces, the distance (Pe) between the carcass cords in at least one side edge portion in the circumferential direction of the ply piece, is larger than the distance (Pc) between the carcass cords in a central portion of the ply piece.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire 1 comprises a carcass 6 comprising at least one carcass ply 6A extending between bead portions 4 via sidewall portions 3 and a tread portion 2. The carcass ply 6A comprises strip-shaped ply pieces 11 longer in a tire radial direction than in a tire circumferential direction arranged circumferentially. Each of the ply pieces 11 comprises a plurality of carcass cords 12 arranged in parallel in the tire radial direction and at least partly overlapping each other with the ply pieces 11 circumferentially adjacent. At least one of the carcass cords 12 arranged in at least one of side edge portions 11e in the tire circumferential direction of each of the ply pieces 11 having a diameter (Ce) smaller than a diameter (Cc) of at least one of the carcass cords 12 arranged in a center portion 11c of each of the ply pieces 11.
PNEUMATIC TIRE, AND PNEUMATIC TIRE PRODUCTION METHOD
In a tire having a belt ply that is formed from ply strips arranged at intervals in the tire circumferential direction, in order to prevent deterioration in durability when high modulus organic fibers are used in a band cord, said tire is provided with a belt layer comprising a belt ply, and a band layer comprising a band ply positioned to the outside of the belt layer in the radial direction. The belt ply is formed by a plurality of ply strips, which are narrow and have a prescribed length, arranged side-by-side with intervals therebetween in the tire circumferential direction. The band ply is formed by a ply tape, which is narrow and long, wound spirally in the tire circumferential direction. The band cord comprises a composite cord in which first strands, which comprise high modulus organic fibers, and second strands, which comprise low modulus organic fibers and are narrower than the first strands, are twisted together.
Optimized architecture of a civil engineering tire
Radial carcass tire for a civil engineering vehicle, having two bead wires (2) of radial height Ht, and carcass reinforcement made of two layers, the first (1) being radially innermost with a radial height Hdc, is anchored in each bead to form a main part (11) and a turn-up (12). The second layer (3) is radially outside the first layer (1). The free end (A) of the turn-up (12) is at a radial distance from the radially outermost point (21) of the bead wire that is at least equal to 1 and at most equal to 2 times Ht. From the end A of the turn-up (12) to the point B at 85% of the radial height Hdc, the distance between carcass layers is at least equal to 2 and at most equal to 11 times the diameter of metal reinforcers of first carcass layer (1).
