A tire comprises a tread reinforcing layer comprising a cord-reinforced part in which a rubberized cord strip with at least one reinforcing cord covered with a topping rubber is wound. The cord-reinforced part comprises a spiral part in which the rubberized cord strip is wound spirally and circumferentially of the tire. The spiral part includes a first edge part and a second part continued therefrom. In the second part, the rubberized cord strip extends spirally more than one turn around the tread portion. In the first edge part, the rubberized cord strip extends in the tire circumferential direction at an angle smaller than that in the second part, and overlaps the rubberized cord strip in the second part.
Tire With Steel Cord-Containing Ply
Disclosed herein are vehicle tires including a carcass with at least one body ply, a tread disposed radially outward of the carcass, and a belt component comprising a steel cord-containing ply positioned radially between the tread and the carcass. The steel cord-containing ply comprises rubber reinforced with steel warp cords having a specified diameter and EASL. Also disclosed is a vehicle tire containing two belt components comprising a steel cord-containing ply, each belt component positioned radially between the tread and the carcass.
Tire With Single Steel Cord-Containing Ply Having Bi-Axially Woven Cords
Disclosed herein are vehicle tires including a tread, a carcass with at least one body ply, and a single steel cord-containing belt ply positioned radially inward of the tread and radially outward of the carcass. The single steel cord-containing belt ply comprises rubber reinforced with steel warp cords bi-axially woven with steel weft cords and have a specified bi-axial angle. Also disclosed is a vehicle tire containing the single steel cord-containing belt ply wherein the belt ply includes pick cords connecting the steel warp cords and steel weft cords.
Thin reinforced product and tire comprising said product
A reinforced product (21) comprises: an elastomer matrix (23), several reinforcing elements (44) embedded in the elastomer matrix (23), the reinforcing elements (44) being arranged side by side in a main direction (X1). Each reinforcing element (44) comprises: at least one filamentary element (46) comprising a single monofilament, and at least one sheath coating the filamentary elements (46) and comprising at least one layer of a thermoplastic polymer composition. The ratio R1=ODO/E of the mean minimum thickness ODO of elastomer present on the back of the sheath to the mean thickness E of the reinforced product (21) is less than or equal to 0.17, the mean minimum thickness of elastomer ODO and mean thickness E of the reinforced product (21) being measured in a direction (Y1) substantially perpendicular to the main direction (X1).
RUBBER COMPOSITION COMPRISING A SPECIFIC REINFORCING FILLER
A rubber composition has an improved rolling resistance and is based on at least a diene elastomer comprising mainly at least one isoprene elastomer; a reinforcing filler comprising from 5 to 60 phr of carbon black having a BET specific surface area of less than 70 m.sup.2/g, termed coarse carbon black, and from 10 to 30 phr of carbon black having a BET specific surface area of greater than or equal to 70 m.sup.2/g, termed fine carbon black; a salt of an alkali, alkaline-earth or lanthanide metal; and a crosslinking system.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BELT-SHAPED CORD MEMBER
A method for manufacturing a belt-shaped cord member by cutting a rubber topped fabric produced by covering a topping rubber on an interdigitated fabric formed by interweaving many warp textile cords and few wefts to a predetermined width, comprising; an interdigitated fabric forming step of arranging a cord having conductivity for every predetermined number of the many warp textile cords which is then interwoven with the weft yarn, a rubber topped fabric producing step of topping rubber on the front and back surfaces of the interdigitated fabric, and a cutting step of cutting the produced rubber topped fabric by every predetermined number of the textile cords, wherein, in the cutting step, the rubber topped fabric is cut along the textile cord in which a cord having conductivity is arranged, after the position of the textile cords is specified by energizing the rubber topped fabric.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire has a tread reinforcing layer comprising a net structure formed from a tape of rubber coated reinforcing cord(s). The net structure comprises first oblique segments and second oblique segments of the tape which intersect with each other, forming interspaces therebetween. The first oblique segment has a first axial outer part in which the angle of the tape with respect to the tire circumferential direction decreases toward one end in the tire axial direction of the net structure. The second oblique segment has a second axial outer part in which the angle of the tape with respect to the tire circumferential direction decreases toward the above-said one end of the net structure. The first axial outside part is connected to the second axial outside part directly or through a circumferential segment of the tape.
