The strips are arranged so that they are juxtaposed and at an angle less than or equal to 15 with respect to the circumferential direction. Each reinforcing strip is made up of a laminate of at least 3 composite layers, each composite layer containing oriented fibers having a tensile modulus less than or equal to 30 GPa, which are parallel to one another and coated in a polymer matrix.
VEHICLE TIRE
Breaking energy test performance of lightweight tyres that have a good performance in terms of rolling resistance and having a nominal width at least equal to 135 mm and at most equal to 235 mm is increased. These tyres comprise two thin and lightened working layers (41, 42) comprising metal reinforcing elements (411, 421) made up of monofilaments having a linear breaking strength Rct at least equal to 300 daN/cm and at most equal to 400 daN/cm, and a single carcass layer (6) radially on the inside of the working layers. In order to improve performance in the breaking energy test, this carcass layer comprises textile reinforcing elements and has surface breaking energy at least equal to 1.75 J/cm.sup.2.
REINFORCING MEMBER FOR TIRES AND TIRE USING SAME
Provided is a tire reinforcing member that can further improve various tire performances, such as steering stability and ride comfort. Also provided is a tire in which various tire performances, such as steering stability and ride comfort, are further improved by the use of the tire reinforcing member. A tire reinforcing member (10) is formed by laminating two or more layer members (3) each obtained by covering elongated fiber materials (1) with a polymer material (2). The layer members each have a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.5 mm, and the whole reinforcing member has a thickness of 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm.
PNEUMATIC TIRE WITH NOISE-ABSORBING MEMBER AND TIRE-AND-RIM ASSEMBLY
A pneumatic tire with a noise-absorbing member includes a pneumatic tire and a noise-absorbing member. The pneumatic tire is provided with a spiral belt layer at an outer peripheral side of a tire carcass member. A cord of the spiral belt layer is wound in a helical shape. The noise-absorbing member is attached to an inner peripheral face of the pneumatic tire. Outermost end portions at both sides in the tire width direction of the noise-absorbing member are disposed in a region corresponding to from 80% to 100% of a width dimension BW of the spiral belt layer. The noise-absorbing member absorbs cavity resonance noise produced in a cavity of the pneumatic tire.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire includes a tire case, a tread and a single-layer belt. The tire case includes a carcass that extends from one bead portion to another bead portion. An outer side portion of the carcass is covered with a side rubber layer formed of a first rubber material. The tread is disposed at the tire radial direction outer side of the tire case and is formed of a second rubber material. The belt is disposed between the tire case and the tread. The belt includes a resin-covered cord that is wound in a spiral shape. The resin-covered includes a cord covered with a resin with a greater tensile modulus of elasticity than the first rubber material and the second rubber material. The resin at one winding and another winding of the resin-covered cord, which are adjacent in the tire width direction, are welded together.
REINFORCED FABRIC COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF METAL REINFORCING ELEMENTS
A reinforced fabric comprises a plurality of metal reinforcing elements arranged in a transverse direction, substantially parallel to each other and extending in a main direction perpendicular to the transverse direction, embedded in an elastomer composition based on at least one elastomer, a reinforcing filler, and a crosslinking system, each metal reinforcing element having, in a plane perpendicular to the main direction, a cross-section inscribed in a rectangle of length W and a height T.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire having a tread portion and a belt layer, wherein the reinforcing cords in the belt layer are composed of monofilament cords arranged in the tire width direction at least 50 cords/5 cm in the cross section of the belt layer in the tire radial direction. A pneumatic tire that is installed on a standardized rim and satisfies the following (formula 1), where Wt (mm) is the cross-sectional width of the tire and Dt (mm) is the outer diameter of the tire when the internal pressure is 250 kPa:
1500(Dt.sup.2/4)/Wt(formula 1).
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire having a tread section and a belt layer, wherein monofilament cords are used as reinforcing cords in the belt layer, and an arranged number e of the monofilament cords per 5 cm in the tire-width direction (cords/5 cm) in a tire radial direction cross-section of the belt layer, and a tire cross-sectional width Wt (mm), incorporated in a standardized rim and with an internal pressure of 250 kPa, satisfies (formula 1) and (formula 2) below:
e/(0.31Wt+14.35)>1(formula 1);
e/(0.31Wt+56.45)(formula 2).
A NOVEL NYLON 6.6 CAP PLY
The present invention relates to a novel tire cord fabric or strip made of alternating a plurality of first nylon 6.6 cords and a plurality of second nylon 6.6 cords having different twists. Such a novel tire cord fabric or strips improve high speed durability, tread separation resistance and impact resistance when used as zero degree spirally wound cap ply on the belt package in pneumatic radial tires.
