Tread Comprising Interrupted Grooves
Tread (1) for a tire of a heavy-duty vehicle, having a tread surface (10), this tread (1) comprising, near to each of its edges (11), a plurality of open wells (2) on the tread surface when new, these open wells (2) of depth Pmax being arranged circumferentially with a mean distance D between two consecutive open wells; each open well (2) being delimited by two main faces (21, 22) facing one another, this tread being such that each open well (2) is connected to at least one hidden cavity (32) formed within the tread, this hidden cavity (32) opening into a main face (21, 22) of said well.
TRUCK TIRE HAVING WATER FLOW ORIENTING TREAD FEATURE
A heavy truck tire tread (12) is provided that has a partially hidden longitudinal groove (22) with an undersurface channel (24) engaged by a longitudinal sipe (26). The partially hidden longitudinal groove (22) has a surface opening (28) that extends from a surface of the tread to the undersurface channel (24). The tread (12) has at least one of two features. The first feature is that the surface opening (28) extends from the surface to the undersurface channel (24) at an angle to the thickness direction such that the surface opening (28) at the surface is forward of the surface opening (28) at the undersurface channel (24) in the rolling direction (20). The second feature is that a lateral sipe (32) engages the surface opening (28) so that the first end is at the surface opening (28), and the second end is forward of the first end in the rolling direction (20).
Pneumatic tire
To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving rut performance. A pneumatic tire according to an embodiment is a tire having a specified rotation direction. A shoulder region of a tread portion is provided with a shoulder block and a raised portion is provided in an outer extension portion of the shoulder block in a tire width direction in relation to a tire ground contact end. The raised portion includes a corner portion which protrudes from an edge portion of the shoulder block on a front side in the rotation direction toward the front side in the rotation direction.
Motorcycle tyre and pair of motorcycle tyres
A motorcycle tyre has a tread band including a central portion and two shoulder portions arranged at axially opposite sides of the central portion. The central portion includes a first plurality of grooves extended according to a substantially longitudinal direction and alternatively arranged at opposite sides of the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each groove of the first plurality of grooves has a substantially curvilinear course such as to form a concavity. The central portion further includes a sub-portion substantially free of grooves placed astride the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each of the shoulder portions includes a second plurality of grooves arranged obliquely relative to the equatorial plane of the tyre.
Tread block with features for improved thermal wear
A tire tread having features that improve thermal wear performance is provided. A tread block is provided with an aperture. The aperture is positioned and sized in a manner that reduces stresses and/or strains in the tread block so as to reduce thermal wear. Certain variations in the depth and shape of the aperture are provided. Such tread feature can provide for a tire capable of operating at higher speeds for a given load.
Pneumatic motorcycle tire
Provided is a pneumatic motorcycle tire which includes a tread portion, and side wall portions and bead portions, and whose rotation direction when the tire is mounted on a vehicle is designated. A tire tread includes a branched main groove composed of a first groove extending inclined toward the designated tire rotation direction on one side in the tire width direction, a second groove extending from an end portion of the first groove in the reverse rotation direction of the designated tire rotation direction inclined toward the designated tire rotation direction on the other end in the tire width direction, and a third groove extending from an end portion of the first groove and second groove in the reverse rotation direction of the designated tire rotation direction toward the reverse rotation direction of the designated tire rotation direction, wherein a connecting portion of the first groove and the second groove is formed in a curved shape, the first groove and the second groove are formed in a curved line having the center of the radius of curvature on the side of the reverse rotation direction of the designated tire rotation direction, and the third groove is formed in a curved line having the center of the radius of curvature on the side of the tire center portion.
Pneumatic tire
A pneumatic tire according to the embodiment includes a land portion 20 provided on a tread portion, a plurality of sipes 30 provided on the land portion 20, and at least one concave portion 34 disposed between two adjacent sipes 30. Each of the sipes 30 has, at parts in a sipe longitudinal direction, bottom protrusions 42, 44, 46 protruding from a bottom surface of the sipe 30 toward a tread surface. The concave portion 34 is provided close to the bottom protrusions 42, 44, 46.
TIRE
A tire includes a plurality of buffer recessed portions (40) compression-deformable in a tire radial direction that are arranged in a tire circumferential direction over an entire area in the tire circumferential direction on an outer surface of a buttress portion (12) connected to an end portion of a tread surface portion (11) of the tire in a tire width direction, in which in a plan view of the buttress portion, an opening peripheral edge of the buffer recessed portion has a hexagonal shape including six side portions (41, 42), and the buffer recessed portions adjacent to each other in the tire circumferential direction are arranged such that one of the six side portions of one of the buffer recessed portions faces one of the six side portions of the other of the buffer recessed portions in the tire circumferential direction.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire includes, on a tread surface, at least one water absorption hole that includes a narrow-diameter portion on the tread surface side and a wide-diameter portion, on the hole bottom side, with a larger diameter than the narrow-diameter portion. In a reference state, the water absorption hole extends at an inclination relative to the normal direction of the tread surface, an average cross-sectional area of the narrow-diameter portion in a cross-section perpendicular to the extending direction of the narrow-diameter portion over the extension length thereof is 0.2 to 20 mm.sup.2, and the diameter of the wide-diameter portion is 1.4 or more times that of the narrow-diameter portion in the cross-section perpendicular to the extending direction of the narrow-diameter portion. In a transparent plan view from the tread surface side in the reference state, the opening of the narrow-diameter portion to the tread surface overlaps the wide-diameter portion.
MOTORCYCLE TIRE AND FRONT AND REAR MOTORCYCLE TIRES
A bias-ply motorcycle tire comprises a tread portion provided with main grooves and sipes. The main grooves extend from a tread crown region into tread shoulder regions. The sipes are provided only within the tread shoulder regions.
