Tire with enhanced wet grip
Provided is a tire capable of efficiently discharging water, which is additionally absorbed through a plurality of flow tubes, through the flow tubes and a drain tube, thereby improving wet grip performance. The tire with enhanced wet grip includes a kerf formed on a block to discharge water introduced thereinto to a groove, a drain tube formed in the kerf in its longitudinal direction and connected to the groove to discharge the water to the groove, and a flow tube formed in the kerf toward the drain tube from an inlet of the kerf, into which the water is introduced, and connected to the groove or the drain tube.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire has paired bead portions, paired sidewall portions, a tread portion, a plurality of lug grooves extending from a shoulder area of the tread portion to reach a buttress area of the sidewall portion, and a block defined by the plurality of lug grooves. The block includes a shoulder block provided in the shoulder area, and a buttress block provided in the buttress area. The buttress area is provided with an annular rib annularly extending along a tire circumferential direction. The lug grooves are comparted into an outside lug groove positioned in an outer side of the annular rib, and an inside lug groove positioned in an inner side of the annular rib. A widened portion is provided in at least part of the plurality of lug grooves so as to enlarge a width of the annular rib.
Sidewall treatment for cooling and aerodynamics
Provided is a pneumatic tire comprising a tread, sidewalls, a belt, and dimpled patterns, wherein each dimpled pattern is adapted to modify air flow and temperature. The tread defines the outward surface of the tire and extends in a radial direction, a circumferential direction, and a lateral direction. Each sidewall extends radially inwardly along a curved path from the tread to a bead and defines a lateral surface having maximum lateral extent. The belt extends under the tread. Each dimpled pattern is a surface treatment etched from a sidewall maximum lateral extent over a belt edge and onto the tread. Each dimpled pattern surface treatment modifies air flow at 180 mph over the tire to turbulent flow, and reduces steady state operating temperatures of the sidewalls.
MOTORCYCLE TIRE
A tread of a tire includes a plurality of blocks including a center block located on an equator plane and a side block located outward of the center block in an axial direction. Each of the plurality of blocks includes a land surface that forms a part of a tread surface. In the tread surface, a total area of the land surfaces is smaller than a total area of a portion other than the land surfaces. A complex elastic modulus at a maximum strain amplitude of 1% and a temperature of 70° C. of each block is not less than 10.0 MPa. A 300% modulus at a temperature of 75° C. of each block is not greater than 6.0 MPa.
Drag-reducing shaft tailfin for vehicles
A streamlined tailfin pivotably attached to a shaft-shaped member disposed on a vehicle provides for reduced drag in winds varying in direction impinging thereon.
TYRE
A tyre includes a tread portion including a tread surface which is provided with grooves. At least one of the grooves includes a widening-width portion at least partially. The widening-width portion includes a first groove portion extending inwardly in a tyre radial direction from the tread surface, and a second groove portion located inwardly in the tyre radial direction of the first groove portion and having a groove width greater than that of the first groove portion.
Pneumatic tire
Provided is a pneumatic tire that can be obtained without requiring complicated design and has improved noise performance. On the inner vehicle-mounting side, the circumferential pitch length of the tire has pitch variation comprising at least three pitch lengths and, if the number of pitches is n and the pitch lengths (Pi) are Pi1, Pi2, Pi3, . . . , Pin, in order from the greatest pitch length, the pitch lengths satisfy the relationships Pi1/Pi2≤Pi2/Pi3≤ . . . ≤Pin−1/Pin, and Pi1/Pi2.
Tire
A tire comprises a tread portion 2. The tread portion 2 is provided with at least one main groove 3 extending continuously in a tire circumferential direction. A first groove wall 10, which is one of groove walls of the main groove 3, is provided with at least one first recessed portion 11 recessed outwardly in a groove width direction from a corresponding one of groove edges 6 of the main groove on a ground contacting surface of the tread portion 2. In the first recessed portion 11, a recess amount from the corresponding one of the groove edges 6 gradually decreases toward both sides in the tire circumferential direction from a deepest portion 15 recessed most outwardly in the groove width direction.
DRAG-REDUCING SHAFT TAILFIN FOR VEHICLES
An aerodynamically optimized drag-reduction means and method for optimal minimization of the drag-induced resistive forces upon a terrestrial vehicle wheel, where the drag-induced resistive moments on wheel surfaces pivoting about the point of ground contact are reduced, and the vehicle propulsive forces needed to countervail the resistive forces on the wheel are reduced. The drag reduction means includes: a streamlined wheel cover positioned on a vehicle to shield the faster moving upper wheel surfaces from headwinds; a streamlined wind-deflecting fairing positioned on a vehicle to shield the faster moving upper wheel surfaces from headwinds; an engine exhaust pipe disposed on a vehicle whereby exhaust gases deflect headwinds to shield the faster moving upper wheel surfaces of an automotive wheel; an automotive spoked wheel having streamlined oval-shaped wheel spokes arranged in one or more rows for greater axial strength; a streamlined tailfin rotatably attached to a wheel spoke, which thereby may pivot about the spoke in response to varying crosswinds; and a tire having streamlined tread blocks arranged in an aerodynamic pattern.
TIRE
A tire includes a tread portion that includes a center main groove, an outer main groove provided on an outer side in a tire width direction of the center main groove, and a lug groove extending in a direction intersecting with both main grooves. The center main groove has a zigzag shape in which a first linear portion and a second linear portion are alternately connected. The outer main groove has a zigzag shape in which a long linear portion and a short linear portion are alternately connected.
