TREAD FOR A TIRE

A tire tread includes a middle rib formed by two circumferential main grooves extending along a tire circumferential direction, a first shoulder rib disposed axially outward from the center rib and one of the circumferential main grooves, and a second shoulder rib disposed axially outward from the center rib and the other of the two circumferential main grooves. The middle rib has a repeated group of three sipes: a first sipe being inclined radially inward a first angle relative to a radial direction, a second sipe being inclined radially inward a second angle relative to the radial direction, and a third sipe being inclined radially inward a third angle relative to the radial direction. The second angle is between −0.5 degrees and +0.5 degrees. The first and third angles are oppositely radially inclined to each other and the radial direction.

Truck tire with tread design for reducing abnormal wear

A heavy truck tire is provided that includes a casing with a central axis, and a rubber tread that has a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is located farther from the central axis in a radial direction than the second layer. The first layer has a lower max tan(δ) than a max tan(δ) of the second layer. The max tan(δ) of the first layer is from 0.06-0.15, and the max tan(δ) of the second layer is from 0.12-0.27. The tire also has a sculptural feature that reduces irregular wear.

Pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire includes circumferential main grooves extending in the tire circumferential direction and a land portion defined by the circumferential main grooves. The land portion includes a through lug groove that passes through the land portion in the tire lateral direction and includes first and second chamfered portions formed on left and right edge portions of the through lug groove. The first chamfered portion opens at one end to one of the edge portions of the land portion and terminates at the other end at a central portion in the groove length direction of the through lug groove. The second chamfered portion opens at one end portion to one of the edge portions of the land portion and terminates at the other end portion at a central portion in the groove length direction of the through lug groove.

A first and a second tread pattern portions P1 and P2 on each side of a tire equator (Co) are line symmetry except being circumferentially misaligned, and are each provided with oblique lateral grooves 3, inner and outer joint grooves 4 and 5 connecting between the circumferentially adjacent oblique lateral grooves 3, inner terminating grooves 7 disposed between the inner and outer joint grooves 4 and 5, outer terminating grooves 8 disposed between the outer joint grooves and a ground contact edge (TE), and center joint grooves 6 alternately connecting the oblique lateral grooves of the first and second tread pattern portions. The inner and outer joint grooves 4 and 5 and the inner and outer terminating grooves 7 and 8 are inclined to different directions from the oblique lateral grooves 3. The outer terminating grooves 8 extend on extended lines of the outer joint grooves 5.
