Method for inserting an insert into a tire

The aim of the disclosed solution is to present a method of inserting an insert to a tread a tire such that the insert, particularly a fragile insert such as an insert comprising electronic components, may be protected against gripping and impact forces during its insertion. The disclosed solution is premised on an insert being housed, at least partially, in a sleeve upon and during its installation to a tread of a tire. Thus, the sleeve may be employed to provide protection for the insert against gripping and/or impact forces during the insertion of the insert into the tread a tire.

ADAPTIVE TIRES TRACTION CONTROL
20230074160 · 2023-03-09 ·

An adaptive tire traction control system for motor vehicle tires for grip enhancement and rolling friction reduction. The tire surface area is radially divided into multiple zones, in the three zones configuration the tire is composed of an outer shoulder, centre and inner shoulder. The outer shoulder is equipped with a plurality of studs to increase the traction when vehicle is on icy or muddy surfaces. The centre part is made of low friction rubbers for the normal operation to increase fuel economy and lengthen the tires life, and reduced rolling noise. The inner shoulder is equipped with high grip rubber to provide better grip in case of emergency braking. In one embodiment, the tilting mechanism of the tire traction system can be connected to the anti-lock braking system (ABS). In case of emergency braking, the inner shoulder with high grip rubber is brought in contact with the ground to provide more grips.

A tire has a tread having a first tread edge, a second tread edge on the opposite side, and multiple inclined main grooves formed such that each inclined main groove is obliquely extending from one of the first and second tread edges toward a tire equator and is terminated without reaching the other one of the first and second tread edges. The inclined main grooves are formed such that each of the inclined main grooves includes a tire axial direction outer side portion obliquely extending in an inclined direction, a tire axial direction inner side portion inclining in the inclined direction, and a middle portion formed between the tire axial direction outer side portion and the tire axial direction inner side portion and inclining in the opposite inclined direction with respect to the inclined direction of the tire axial direction outer side portion and tire axial direction inner side portion.

METHOD FOR PROVIDING A VEHICLE TYRE WITH STUDS, AND A STUDDED TYRE FOR A VEHICLE
20170368889 · 2017-12-28 ·

A method for installing a stud in a tyre. The method includes identifying a stud hole for the stud in the tyre; imaging the vicinity of at least the stud hole, whereby information is received about the pattern in the vicinity of the stud hole, and using the received information to determine [i] the stud type suitable for the stud suitable in the stud hole and/or [ii] the suitable stud orientation of the stud suitable in the stud hole. The method includes providing a stud and installing it in a stud hole. The stud type of the stud is the same as the suitable stud type of a stud suitable in the stud hole; and/or the stud is installed in the stud hole in such a way that the main direction of the stud is parallel with the suitable stud orientation. Further a tyre studded by the method.

A vehicle tire including a tread intended for a rolling contact against a foundation, the tread having a tread pattern which includes circumferential and transverse grooves for removing water from a contact patch between the foundation and the tire, and anti-skid studs mounted in the tread and including a stud body and a hard metal pin secured thereto. An end of the metal pin, intended against a foundation, is formed as an inclined surface, whereby the metal pin has its end provided with the inclined surface acting on the foundation in an axial direction of the metal pin to a varying depth and the inclined surface being placed relative to a rotating direction of the tire in such an orientation that, as the tire is rolling freely forward, a leading edge of the hard metal pin to impinge first on the foundation is lower than a trailing edge.

The present technology provides a stud pin. When a lower flange of the stud pin is viewed in an extending direction of a trunk portion, an edge defining a peripheral shape of the lower flange has a first side of a shape protruding roundly toward an outer side of the lower flange, protruding in a first direction orthogonal to the extending direction of the trunk portion, and a second side provided on an opposite side to the first side with respect to a tip disposal position where the tip is provided. The second side extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and the extending direction, and is provided with a recess that is recessed toward an inner side of the lower flange.
