A method for manufacturing an annular carcass of a tire includes providing first and second ply materials, each including cords; winding at least a layer of the first ply material and a layer of the second ply material onto a carcass drum so the first ply material radially surrounds the second ply material; arranging two cables onto the cylindrical carcass preform; turning the part of the cylindrical carcass preform about the closer cable onto the part of the cylindrical carcass preform between the two cables; and expanding the cylindrical carcass preform to form an annular carcass having, in a bead area, inner and outer layers of the first ply material and inner and outer layers of the second ply material. The ply materials are arranged so the cords thereof are arranged cross-wise with respect to its neighboring ply materials or a neighboring ply material, considering the innermost or outermost layer.
Pneumatic tire
In a cross-section of a pneumatic tire, a contour of the bead core is a polygon formed by tangent lines of circumferential portions of a bead wire, the contour includes a vertex with an acute angle and a bottom side opposite the vertex, the carcass layer is folded back along a circumference of the bead core in a bead portion, a folded back portion of the carcass layer from an outer end of the bead core extends in the radial direction, and a distance in the radial direction between a center of an arc profile of a tire outer surface and a straight line extending in the lateral direction through the vertex is within 20% of a radius r of the arc, and a distance in the lateral direction between the center of the arc and a straight line extending in the radial direction through the vertex is within 2r±0.4r.
PNEUMATIC TYRE EQUIPPED WITH A TRANSPONDER
Pneumatic tyre having a toroidal carcass, which has a body ply that is partially folded onto itself and therefore having two lateral flaps; two annular beads, each of which is surrounded by the body ply and has a bead core and a bead filler; an annular tread; a pair of sidewalls; a pair of abrasion gum strips; an innerliner which is impermeable to air and is arranged within the body ply; and a transponder which is arranged between the body ply and the innerliner at a flap of the body ply and is arranged at a distance of less than 7 mm from an edge of the body ply.
TIRE WITH UNIQUE TREAD BLOCK AND UP SIDEWALL DESIGNS
A tire including a sidewall, wherein the sidewall may include an upper sidewall. The upper sidewall may include a plurality of extruded, angled blocks proximate an outer edge of the tire. The tire may include a plurality of shoulder blocks. The plurality of shoulder blocks may be at the outer edge of the tire on a shoulder.
Bead of a tire for a heavy vehicle of the construction plant type
Improving endurance of bead of radial tire for heavy vehicle. Tire has two beads (2) contacting rim (3) connected by carcass reinforcement (4) having carcass layer (5), with main part (6) wrapped, in each bead (2), axially from inside towards outside of the tire, around bead wire (7) having diameter (L), to form turnup (8) having free end (E). Each bead (2) has filling element (9) with filling compound (10) and extending radially towards outside from bead wire (7) and axially between turnup (8) and main part (6). The distance (I) between turnup (8) and main part (6) decreases continuously from bead wire (7) as far as a first minimum distance (a) reached at a first point (A) of turnup (8), then increases continuously from the first point (A) of turnup (8) as far as a first maximum distance (b) reached at a second point (B) of turnup (8).
RUN-FLAT TIRE
A run-flat tire includes a side reinforcing rubber layer, a first bead filler on an inner side of a carcass turned-up portion in a width direction, and a second bead filler on an outer side of the carcass turned-up portion in the width direction. A first bead filler height is 30% or less of a tire cross-sectional height SH. A second bead filler height is 50% or greater of the height SH. A cross-sectional area of the second bead filler is from 150% to 400% of a cross-sectional area of the first bead filler. A relationship (0.16×SH×LI−1100)≤S.sub.ALL≤(0.16×SH×LI−800) is satisfied, where S.sub.ALL represents a sum of cross-sectional areas of the side reinforcing rubber layer and the first and second bead fillers, and LI represents a load index.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
In a pneumatic tire, at least one carcass layer mounted between a pair of bead portions is formed from a carcass cord formed of an organic fiber cord having filament bundles of organic fibers intertwined together, a fineness based on corrected mass of the carcass cord is from 4000 dtex to 8000 dtex, an intermediate elongation of the carcass cord at a sidewall portion under 1.0 cN/dtex load is from 3.3% to 4.2%, and a ratio G/R of an interlayer rubber gauge G between a body portion and a folded back portion to a cord diameter R of the carcass cord, at a contact region where the body portion and the folded back portion are in contact in the carcass layer, is from 0.50 to 0.60.
